“A breathtaking new epic fantasy series. Morgan Rice does it again! This magical saga reminds me of the best of J.K. Rowling, George R.R. Martin, Rick Riordan, Christopher Paolini and J.R.R. Tolkien. I couldn’t put it down!”

A MARCH OF KINGS (BOOK #2 IN THE SORCERER'S RING) takes us one step further on Thor’s epic journey into manhood, as he begins to realize more about who he is, what his powers are, and as he embarks to become a warrior.

After he escapes from the dungeon, Thor is horrified to learn of another assassination attempt on King MacGil. When MacGil dies, the kingdom is set into turmoil. As everyone vies for the throne, King’s Court is more rife than ever with its family dramas, power struggles, ambitions, jealousy, violence and betrayal. An heir must be chosen from among the children, and the ancient Dynasty Sword, the source of all their power, will have a chance to be wielded by someone new. But all this might be upended: the murder weapon is recovered, and the noose tightens on finding the assassin. Simultaneously, the MacGils face a new threat by the McClouds, who are set to attack again from within the Ring.

Thor fights to win back Gwendolyn’s love, but there may not be time: he is told to pack up, to prepare with his brothers in arms for The Hundred, a hundred grueling days of hell that all Legion members must survive. The Legion will have to cross the Canyon, beyond the protection of the Ring, into the Wilds, and set sail across the Tartuvian Sea for the Isle of Mist, said to be patrolled by a dragon, for their initiation into manhood.

Will they make it back? Will the Ring survive in their absence? And will Thor finally learn the secret of his destiny?

With its sophisticated world-building and characterization, A MARCH OF KINGS is an epic tale of friends and lovers, of rivals and suitors, of knights and dragons, of intrigues and political machinations, of coming of age, of broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. It is a tale of honor and courage, of fate and destiny, of sorcery. It is a fantasy that brings us into a world we will never forget, and which will appeal to all ages and genders. It is 60,000 words.

NOTE: In response to reader requests, the book has now been professionally edited and copyedited, and this file version has all the typographical and grammatical errors corrected.

Book #3 in the series--A FEAST OF DRAGONS--and Book #4 in the series--A CLASH OF HONOR--are now also available!

Can’t wait for book 3! Once again Ms. Rice has created an incredible story line and kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire read. I have read all her books and this story is evolving into another great story which I presume will evolve over many books. I finished this book in one sitting and was disappointed when it was over. It was a fun “ride”. I cannot wait for the next installment. This is an easy, enjoyable read that created plots, enemies, heroes and villains in this book and for the future books, with plenty of twists and turns. I highly recommend this book and the series and can also recommend it to anyone, who, like me, has children too.

A great addition to the series

Although it was a little short, she managed to pick up from where she left off in the first book without managing to lose someone. She also gives more depth to the series by telling the story from the pov of several characters, also building the main character list. You see changes in characters and others join together. Most importantly you see Thor continue to grow into the best he can be. Furthermore the ending of the book leaves a stopping point for the author to foreshadow events to come in the following novels in a way that leaves you with a reason to finish reading the series.

loved it except for the book being too short

I really like how morgan wrote the plot. Since I love the book my only complaint is that it was too short. Can't wait to see how morgan finishes the trilogy in the next book.

Good book for someone in the 3rd grade

Good plot but reads like an elementary school primer. The glowing reviews comparing to real works of fiction is laughable and sad at the same time. Needs an editor to help with glaring gramatical and word/adjective selection. This could be so much more with some additional work/focus. Right now it is more like reading a comic book and I continue to read as it is a cheap read. Hmmm maybe you truly do get what you pay for???

    HOW DARE YOU!

Whomever is writing all the glowing reviews has either not read the books or has some personal interest in the books. The plot and charactors are infantile and lacking in basic grammer. The hero is not intelligent or likeable. Save your money. I was offended by the comparisons made to great writers. How dare you insult their great work by likening this shoddy want to be book to them. How dare you!

    Not a trilogy!

I have noticed many people calling Rice's series a trilogy...please go to her blog...you will in fact see that there is a fourth book being released...please dont call something a trilogy before doing a little research! Gives readers false information!

    A must read.

If you enjoyed the first book, you must read the second. Awesome book just like the first.it hooks you from the first word, to the last. Many nights I went to bed late not wanting to put the book down. Don't forget to read number 3.

A quest for heroes the first book, was a good book but a little drawn out in places the author was very descriptive,

( which is a good thing kind of feels like you are there) going into the second, A March of Kings, the book starts to come alive for me. I have read all three books and cannot wait for the fourth.
    Hurry Morgan Rice!!!!

    more from this reviewer

    Enthralling new series

I am thoroughly enjoying this series, watching as the main character Thor grows into his destined role. The characters come alive and they are quite well developed. One thing I don't like that that the proofreading is bad, words are broken up and continued on one the next line. Also, for some reason the page numbering is totally messed up. But that aside, I will definitely read the next book in the series.
