Meet the Author

Pete Ferrari is author of The Challenge of a Lifetime: Backpacking with Parkinson’s, a wilderness adventure story of his hiking and backpacking experiences in the Laurel Highlands and Algonquin Park, Canada. Diagnosed with young-onset Parkinson’s in 2003 at the age of 38, Pete has turned despair into determination through his writing as well as his continued efforts to encourage other Parkinson’s patients to remain physically active.

Pete was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and served in the 1st Infantry Division during Desert Storm. He worked as an electronic technician for fourteen years. He published his book in April 2010 and has also written a short story regarding hiking up Cascade Mountain in New York State. He is currrently working on “The Fog of War".
