Overview

Angelique Deveraux and Adonis "Donnie" Cochran have hated each other ever since Lucky in Love, the book in which her oldest brother Clay married his only sister, Bennie. They took an almost instant dislike to each other and have bickered and battled their way through Until the End of Time, My One and Only Love and Let it Be Me. Donnie even coined a nickname for Angelique that describes her personality perfectly; he calls her Evilene. But over the years they've learned to at least tolerate each other, especially since Angelique has moved from her hometown of Atlanta to Detroit where the other Cochrans live. She's changed quite a bit over the years, something Donnie doesn't want to acknowledge because he'd also have to admit that he's attracted to her. The attraction isn't one-sided, either; Angelique is so taken with Donnie that she kisses him on New Year's Eve, although she can't understand why she did it. They're gradually taking small steps into a relationship and things are going well until they wake up in each other's arms in a luxury suite in Las Vegas, fully clothed with nothing but a valid marriage license as an explanation. The logical thing to do would be to leave this debacle in Vegas to stay, but they decide to ride out the storm for a while. They return to Detroit as a married couple and Donnie finds himself playing the role of protector to his bride, since the family thinks that she's to blame for the escapade. All it takes is a head injury for Angelique, a three-day blizzard and a small case of amnesia for Angelique's deepest secret to be revealed so the couple can find their way to true love. But Angelique's trust in Donnie is shaken to the core when she learns something from his past that causes her to doubt everything they've built together. She's so hurt that she's ready to give up on their marriage but Donnie shows her that he's the only man for her in the most romantic way possible.

    Hooked New reader

I have been reading romance for over 15 years and I love finding new authors. This book immediately put me in touch with the characters struggles, triumphs and the comical ways of men and women. Angel and Adonis were real, lively and sexy characters. The authors¿ style and fast pace had me finishing the book in one day and looking on line to purchase more of the two family's stories. Looking forward to my new delivery and the new book title!

    Keeps getting better & better

Melaine you never disappoint me with your books I have read them all & can't wait for the next one. Angelique & Adonis's story was everything I thought it would be. I liked how you didn't have them consumate there marriage until they confessed there love for each other. I can't wait to see who your next book is about. You keep throwing John Flores @ us.

    A beautiful story

I was drawn to this book from page one. There was never a dull moment, and when you thought the drama was over, more came. I gave it to my sisters to read, they loved it(and they never read). and now we're passing it along to our friends. everyone loved it.

    Another great book

I have read all her books and have yet to be let down. You truely can relate to the characters and can visualize whats going on as you read. I would love to see her work turned into a made for tv movie. Can't wait for the next one to come out.

    Excellent read

This is yet another great book about the Devereaux and Cochrane family. Melanie keeps you wanting to read more and more about these two families. These two characters were meant to be together and their story was so romantic. Can't wait for the next one.

    A Great Book

This was such a good book. I love the way she portrays her characters in the book. Adonis and Angelique started out hating each other, but eventually found love with each other. Great, great story. I've read all of her books and enjoyed every last one. I can't wait for the next one. Keep up the good work Melanie.

    Very detailed....but a good read

This was a good read......though not as fast paced as the other books in the series.......I loved the way the author added secondary character stories without taking away from the main story line.........I loved how Angels character was made more humble after you understand the reason for her bratty behavior form previous stories I also loved how AJ allowed Angel to grow as a person before expressing his feeling but as they say you snooze you lose.......Donnie really new what he wanted he just fought so hard at fighting his feelings......this book flowed well just a little more detailed and not as fast paced as previous stories read but this gave you so much insight on the stories yet to come keep them coming
