Man, am I glad they released this on disc. My old LP is about worn out! This is Maynard at his greatest and best. No holes barred.

    The Definitive Maynard

Quite simply, this is not only the definitive Maynard Ferguson album, but one of the definitive big band jazz recordings of all time. This may be the first reissue of this recording as a single CD since it was originally issued. It's so incredibly overdue. I kept my turntable just to play my original LP of this masterpiece. This 1959 recording captures not only Maynard at his peak, but a dizzying array of some of the best jazz arrangers and sidemen ever. Particularly noteble is Slide Hampton's arrangement of "Stella by Starlight," one of the great charts of all time. This is a "must-have" not only for Maynard fans, but for any big band jazz enthusiast! The CD also contains some outtakes not included in the original CD. Just buy it now, before it goes out of stock!!
