    A Miracle of Biblical Proportions

McAllen, Texas: February 17, 2008: John Keller, then 33, was hit by a motorist while he was riding his motorcycle. With no helmet or protective gear, John flew 150 feet into the air and landed across five lanes of traffic. The injuries sustained were so serious, that little hope was given for survival. With a broken pelvis in three places and a traumatic brain injury, John's body quit doing everything but breathing. After 70+ days in a coma, 11 months in hospitals and 14 surgeries, on January 21, 2009, John began talking. With perfect memory retention, John would dial phone numbers he had not even had a thought of in almost and year, and then carried on full length conversations. One week later, January 29, 2009, John walked out of the Hospital in Houston, Texas and went home. Despite all reports and medical indications that John would live a vegetative life, he has returned to normal routines working out in the gym for several hours a day and working the other half of the day. It is John's desire to educate and encourage anyone who will listen about not giving up when challenges present themselves, specifically family members of patients with traumatic brain injuries, as well as encouraging the medical community in their industry. If you are interested in viewing the details of this modern day miracle, you can view several videos on youtube.com. "John Keller Miracle in Progress" tells the story of the family's first year of this journey. "John Keller From the Miracle to the Man" shows the progress in the second year.
