Meet the Author

Like her famous namesake Laura Lovecraft was born, raised and currently resides in Providence Rhode Island. An aspiring writer since reading William Peter Blatty’s The Exorcist at the age of 10, Laura’s early work reflected her penchant for the horror genre. These stories were heavily influenced by a variety of authors from such pioneers as H.P. Lovecraft and Algernon Blackwood to contemporary masters Robert McCammon, Peter Straub, and of course Stephen King. As time went on this love of horror led Laura to begin to delve into the occult and begin to both follow, as well as incorporate into her writing, the beliefs of Aleister Crowley as well as Anton Levay.

After publishing numerous short stories for horror related magazines and anthologies Laura took a hiatus from writing to pursue several different career ventures including owning and operating a horror themed comic book and collectibles store. A year ago Laura once again felt her passion for writing returning however; not wanting to return to the horror genre Laura struggled for direction. That direction came from an unlikely source; her sex life. As creative in the bedroom as in every other aspect of her life, Laura and her partner engage in weekly role plays in which they would play out various characters and scenarios. One night Laura was struck by a vivid image of a scene she wanted to play out and decided on a whim to sit down and type out the scene.

One thing led to another and that scene turned into a short story which turned into a series of stories based on two characters that Laura had originally created for her role plays; ad exec Allison Saunders and attorney Mark Phillips. Deciding to take it to the next level Laura has spent the last year honing her craft by publishing versions of these stories on various erotic web sites. To date Laura’s stories have amassed well over 1,000,000 views and have garnered rave reviews for not only the intense sex scenes but her amazing attention to detail and character development.

However old influences die hard and Laura’s passion for the dark side has crept into her erotic writings. As the logo states Laura’s stories are not from the faint of heart. If you are seeking vanilla stories featuring Hollywood perfect characters and happy endings the works of Laura Lovecraft will not be for you. Although no longer supernatural in nature, Laura’s stories are infused with darkness and feature characters that are both driven and crippled by the demons of their pasts. Laura first full length work focuses on the most taboo of sexual practices - incest. This topic has been banned on Amazon and most publishers will not accept it. Refusing to change her stories or vision Laura is currently in the process of self publishing what will be a series of books based on the 20 year relationship of a brother and sister as well as several shorter works all based on keeping it in the family, so to speak.

Laura’s work differs from that of many other authors who dare to delve into this subject. Where many writers turn out ridiculous tales of “grope and go” incest where a brother takes his sister for no better reason then she looked good that day then the entire family joins in Laura’s stories are slow building seductions and there is always a reason for the most forbidden of attractions. There is no bigger example of this than her soon to be released debut book “Broken.”
