Overview

A MYSTERY BRED IN BUCKHEAD - A Southern Mystery

Southern Hospitality and Cold-Blooded Murder

In genteel Atlanta society there are worse crimes than murder-such as missing Rippen Delacourt's annual Christmas party, a fifty-year tradition. As amateur sleuth Sheila Travis joins her family and cherished friends at Rip's gala, she never suspects that before the end of the evening, a long-missing, priceless manuscript will turn up in the hands of a disgruntled servant . . . and release enough closeted skeletons to fill Rip's guest list.

Someone doesn't want the unpublished novel to come to light-and is willing to make sure it doesn't. As Sheila stubbornly pursues the manuscript, she makes a deadly discovery: the someone who has already killed to keep the papers out of her hands is probably a relative or a lifelong friend . . . who now is drawing a bead on Sheila.

Sixth in the series. Reprint edition.

Amateur sleuth Sheila Travis returns, caught in another witty and perplexing tale of murder, Southern style. A long-missing and priceless manuscript turns up and threatens to dislodge a number of genteel Atlanta's closeted skeletons. Soon a society ball's guest list turns into a list of suspects in a twisty tale of murder. Original.

    Very good mystery story

I had a hard time putting this book down. Great read for a snowy day. Reminded me of all those Ellery Queen books I've always enjoyed, but with a southern twist.

    Entertaining!

Part of the Shiela Travis Series, which is one of my favorite series by Patricia Sprinkle. Set in the Atlanta area with a mystery that dates back to World War 2.
