Overview

Recently widowed Jamie Sutherland is having a hard time accepting her husband’s death. She knows she needs a change and an opportunity to move on with her life. When a friend offers her the use of the family vacation home on Manitoulin Island, she jumps at the opportunity, thinking the change in scenery might be just what she needs to sort out her future.

She meets Grant McAllister, who has lost his wife in a tragic car accident. Struggling to raise his two children alone, he too is having difficulty moving on. Chance puts them in the position of neighbours to each other. Can a neighbourly friendship develop into something meaningful for both of them? Could it really be A New Beginning?

Meet the Author

Writing is something I often thought about doing, but I never really settled myself down to attempt writing a book. I have written many newsletter articles and historical pieces for various organizations I was involved with through the years. When I sat down to write this book, it didn't take long for me to feel comfortable with the story and the characters. I felt as though I knew them personally.

I live in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, with my husband of thirty-three years and our only daughter. Through the long Canadian winters I enjoy reading, writing, and quilting, but in the summer I divide time between home and the boat on Georgian Bay with my family. We have travelled by boat all over Georgian Bay, as well as the North Channel and the Trent Severn Waterway. We have taken many vacations on Manitoulin Island throughout our married life, and thus we feel very much at home on the island. We love the north of Canada and enjoy exploring it as often as time allows us. We have also travelled the Bruce Peninsula extensively and have spent many hours enjoying the natural wonders it presents.
