Meet the Author


Jane Addams (1860-1935) was not only an author but also a philosopher and prominent public figure. Her work in the women’s suffrage movement, as well as her work for health care and world peace, led her to become the first woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931. Her memoir, Twenty Years at Hull House, is a classic.
