Editorial Reviews

Richard Godwin
Michelle Hughes writes highly evocative descriptive prose that straddles the paranormal and romantic traditions. ‘Tears Of Crimson’ is set in New Orleans and brings the French Quarter to life as the backdrop to her vampire story. It is a strange and compelling book and Michelle dramatises her characters with detail and finesse. There is something haunted about her prose and she has an individual style.

Meet the Author

Mother by day, vampire lover by night. As a former singer/songwriter I needed to find an outlet for my creative spirit that still afforded me the opportunity to stay home and raise my children. The Tears of Crimson series had been in my dreams since I was a young teenager and after much soul searching I decided to write them down to share with my friends.

This journey of writing started out as a way to fulfill my need to entertain since the calling of the stage was no longer an option. It's turned into my obsession and the dreams that started this series are even more prominent today. I have always had a fascination with vampires and romance. The first book I read were my grandmothers Harlequin romances. I believe I was eight or nine at the time I discovered them by sneaking into the bathroom to read.

I'm glad this book finally made it to Nook. I had to buy this on Amazon and use the PC to read it. I hope the other book in the series will be offered for Nook? This was a unique vampire book and I was very impressed. New Orleans and sexy vampires and a vampire bar with great characters that I couldn't stop thinking about.
