A Night Away
Book 3.5 in the Redwood Pack Series

Kade Jamenson has been mated to Melanie for almost two years. They’ve been through mating circles, battles, loss, misunderstandings, and finally, the birth of their son, Finn. The world is in turmoil around them as the Redwoods engage in war with the Centrals. But for Kade and Melanie, the turmoil is also happening at home. The responsibility of a restless baby and their Pack has taken a toll and they need a break.
Not from each other. But from their Pack. Just for a night.
Kade takes Mel away for a romantic getaway and leaves Uncle Maddox alone with baby Finn. The Omega of the Redwood Pack may be adept at emotions but the idea of a baby may be beyond his immense capabilities.
Author’s Note: This is a novella set between books 3 and 4 to give you a taste of Mel and Kade. It is best that you have already immersed yourselves in the Redwood Pack world, however even new readers will enjoy a glimpse of one of the Redwood’s favorite couples.

    Sweet and Sexy!

Love the characters Mel and Kade! So glad we got to have another peek into their relationship. Even a toddler can wear out a werewolf! Everyone reaches that point after having a kid where you just need to make time to reconnect with your partner. This short novella was spot on! You will not be disappointed.
    Hugs,

    funny and true

What parent hasn't gotten tired with a new baby! Evan shifters has baby issues. This novelle gives you a look into the Redwood pack. Mel and Kade are just like any parent but add a little werewolf. It will make you laugh along and maybe tear up a little but by the end if you haven't read about the Redwood Pack you will want too. Awesome series highly recommended!

This is a novella set between books 3 and 4 of the Redwood Pack

This is a novella set between books 3 and 4 of the Redwood Pack series. It’s just supposed to be a little add-on, so to speak. However, I think it may be my favorite in the series! It returns us to the very first couple we met, and shows us the chemistry we loved from the very beginning. It’s sexy as hell, and incredibly sweet as we see through the eyes of two devoted first-time parents. We also get to see more of the human side of the pack, as Willow and Mel compare notes on being mothers, and Hannah as she opens up about wanting that for herself and her men. We also see Kade chilling out working with his brothers. It’s so great to see them as more of a family than a pack of close-knit werewolves.

I’m no expert on child development, nor have I had children of my own, so I can’t say anything definitive about the plausibility of Finn’s (the 11mo baby) behavior and all, so I’ll stay away from that, but I do have a close friend who had her first baby almost two years ago. Remembering what she went through – adjusting to the baby, and struggling to find a balance between being herself, being a wife, and being a mom – I thought this novella was very realistic in how Kade and Mel were feeling. My heart just melted.

My favorite so far, A Night Away turns up the heat, and tugs at the heart strings. It was an awesome little side trip in the Redwood Pack series.

    Sexy, Getaway Romp!

This story is a wonderful follow up on the events that started in An Alpha's Path. It is always exciting when an author goes back to where it all began and gives the readers an insight into how the characters’ lives are evolving.
I love that Carrie Ann Ryan has made it believable, especially when those of us who are parents know how off kilter your life can be in those early stages and how hard it is to find those precious moments we took for granted when we were just a couple.
A Night Away reminds us that “Alone” time is important and that passion should never go unfulfilled!

I truly enjoyed this novella as it gives us an insight into Mel

I truly enjoyed this novella as it gives us an insight into Mel and Kade 'happily ever after' which is not as happy as they would want to. As happens in real life, caring for a child is really hard work. Mel and Kade need some alone time to reconnect their love and passion. Their love for each other is there, they just need the time and stamina. I highly recommend it as it also gives you a look inside the Redwood Pack.
