This book is worth reading if only for the "heat" between Jackson and Michaela. The suspense factor of the stalker is an added bonus. In a romance novel, readers know the couple will get together in the end -- the "how" is what makes a book worth reading. The author scores big with "A Night of Southern Comfort."

Covington has certainly "burned up the sheets" with her debut title, a fast, hot, romantic suspense, with plenty of passion to keep those pages turning!

One night of uncontrolled passion was all it took. Of course Kayle
didn't know that at the time. After finally breaking free of her
controlling governor father, she has opened her practice and started to
make a new life for herself. He first night with her new life she sees a
man in a tux at the hotel bar and decides it can't hurt to let loose for
once and take what she wants. Luckily for her Jackson can't seem to get
enough of the hot girl that's been staring at him all night. But what
was supposed to be just one night into a hotel room comes back to turn
into something neither of them ever expected when a stalker enters the
picture. Can Jackson keep Kayla safe? And can both of them keep their
hearts out of the mix? Sooooo....ummmmmmm....WOW! This was hot. Like
H.O.T, hot from the very beginning. The chemistry between Kayla and
Jackson is beyond scorching and I ate up every minute of it. But the
best part is that the story outside the bedroom was also fantastic. The
plot, yes that's right there's was an actually plot, was well rounded
and sucked me into the story. There is just some much going on outside
of the steamy sex scenes and I couldn't get enough. I love how
protective Jackson was over Kayla even when he was denying his feelings
for her. And the way Kayla handled having a stalker. Always trying to
take care of herself. I will say that there were a few times that I felt
the descriptive words were a little over done. In some spots there would
be three or even four descriptive words in a row before you even found
out what they were describing. So I do wish that those would have been
toned down a bit, but still it's wasn't worth losing a star over.
Overall if you are looking for a steamy romance with a great plot and
some suspense then this is the book for you!

Romance that sizzles and suspense that keeps you turning pages~ I was captivated by this book from the first page. Jackson and Michaela are great characters. Michaela is a very strong woman and I had to admire her from the very beginning when she "picks up" Jackson in the hotel bar even that took a lot of nerve and then she manages to start a whole new life away from her father, he is just evil.
Jackson is just enough of a "damaged" hero to make you want to kiss and make it all better for him. I would have gladly taken Michaela's place!
I can see more stories coming from Ms. Covington there are a couple of secondary characters who really need their story told (hint, hint) she has a winner here and I can't wait to see what comes next!

Review:
"A Night of Southern Comfort" by Robin Covington was a wonderful romantic read that was indeed enjoyed. Sexy, fast paced, great hero and heroine was all in this wonderful read. Truly Jackson was a person with some flaws but a hulk... proved to be a perfect match for Michaela. Michaela was a character with the ability to stand up for what she wanted. I found "A Night of Southern Comfort" was somewhat predictable but will a good read and the ending only saying OMG good! Now, as this storyline goes...Michaela is being stalked
...will Jackson be able to aid her...you will find out by picking up "A Night of Southern Comfort" to find out.
Be ready for a quick read that you will not be able to put down and some twist only to give you a good fun read that I would highly recommend to you.

I never gush about a book unless I really, really love it.
And boy, did I love this book!
I'm staggered that it's Robin Covington's debut novel...talking about setting the bar high!
In Kayla and Jack she has created two wonderful characters, well-matched in their independence and hidden vulnerabilities.
And the sexual tension between them? Sizzles off every page.
With wickedly hot sex and sparkling dialogue, this book was a winner.
I hated putting it down and can't wait for the follow ups with Teague, Lucky and Beck's stories.
More please!

One of the best books I've read in a very long time. True to life characters, just enough suspense to keep you wondering and enough steam to have you fanning, and a story that kept me turning the pages.

Michaela Roarke goes out to celebrate her new life, not expecting anything more than to have a drink or two alone at a bar, but when she see Jackson Cantrell in his tux, her plans change. Although they knew that their anonymous night tonight was just that, one night, they never forgot.
When they meet again, a month later, the sparks are still there, but now Michaela is in danger and the prime suspect is her controlling father. Governor Eastland forces Jackson to watch over his daughter. Despite that, Jackson doesn't want to see any harm come to Michaela anyway, so with the help of Lucky, his cousin and partner at the Roanoke Police Dept., they must figure out who is after Michaela before it's too later.
I have not read a lot of romantic suspense books up to this point, and I really don't know why. A Night of Southern Comfort is a great story. Kayla and Jackson are really great together. I very much enjoyed the romance between them. Even with Jackson trying to convince himself that he needs to stay professional around her, their chemistry cannot be denied.
With Kayla's dating history, she worries that any guy interested in her is only after her father's favors. But with Jackson, things are different. She let's down her guard with him. She feels completely free for the first time in her life. I like her strong willed personality, yet she has her vulnerable moments as well.
Now, although this might seem like a really odd thing to like about the book, I'm going to say it anyway. I liked the fact that Kayla was said to often visit The Southern Comfort diner, in which Jackson's mother was the owner, to have a piece of pie and not once, whenever pie was involved or mentioned, did Robin Covington feel the need to add things like: "I know I shouldn't be eating this..." or "If you eat too much of that it will make you fat." or any other negative comments towards Kayla's enjoyment of her pie! That was kind of nice actually. Of course, I did laugh at Jackson's reaction when he found out that her 'usual' is a sweet tea and a piece of chocolate peanut butter pie.
Apart from the romance aspect of the story, I rather enjoyed the interaction between Jackson and his cousin Lucky. They grew up together, they know each other so well, and Lucky tells Jackson the true whether he wants to hear it or not. Even when Jackson would rather pick a fight with Lucky than listen to him, Lucky is always there when he needs his help.
There was a point at the end of the book where I thought that Robin could have easily ended the story there but she didn't. I'm grateful for that because I loved how she did end it. I look forward to reading more of Robin's work in the future!

Alright readers – this book serious rocked my socks off! Jackson & Kayla are ah-maz-ing together! The story Robin Covington has written is absolutely fantastic – I couldn’t put it down. I had to read just one more chapter … every time I tried to put it down! Not kidding!!
This story starts out steamy and just keeps you enthralled! I love the personality of Kayla… she had my laughing out loud with her thoughts and words! I love her smarts and wits. Jackson is, well he is damaged. A great guy with baggage – and you know me :o) that’s my favorite kind of male lead. He is complex and emotional and strong and protective – all the yummy traits for a kickass male. I don’t want to talk specifics because I loved this book so much I might just give too much away. So I am just going to recommend this book to … well everyone! I think it has a little bit of everything for everyone in it: romance, action, mystery, drama, complexity – yea all of it!!
You need to pick up a copy of this book, and once you read it come back and let me know what you think!
It is only $2.99!! Go get your copy right now!
A Night of Southern Comfort is one of those books that you don't want to put down. Believe me, I cursed the day job a few times because I had to quit reading.
Loved. Loved. Loved this book. The heroine is for consistent, steady, and smart. The hero is one of those guys that wants to be in total control, but still has a soft heart--my fave kind.
The plot isn't so cluttered that you can't enjoy the romance winding through it and I'm so relieved to find a book like that. I can't wait to dig into more of the Entangled Indulgence line if they are all as good as this! :)
Ms. Covington has created a whirlwind romance with enough heat to sizzle and make you pant. Don't miss out.---Rachel Firasek
