New Adult Contemporary Romance **Mature Content** Recommended for 17+ due to mature language and adult situations.

A Night to Forget is the first book in the two-book series, Emma's Story. The second book in the series, The Day to Remember is scheduled to be released in August 2013.

What happens in Cancun doesn't always stay in Cancun.

When Emma Anderson and her friends decided to spend their senior year Spring Break in Cancun, she expected some crazy memories to end their final college days. What Emma didn't expect was to meet Brandon Fisher. Tall and sexy, with dimples that would make any girl swoon, Brandon Fisher was literally the man of Emma's dreams. She couldn't quite believe that this stranger, who seduced her every night in her dreams, actually existed.

After serendipitously bumping into each other, Emma could not resist Brandon's pull and spent an unforgettable night with him. Passing it off as a spring break fling, Emma never expected to see Brandon again. But when she started her first day at her new job a few months later, there he was. The only problem was, Brandon didn't even remember her.

Meet the Author

Jessica Wood writes new adult contemporary romance.

While Jessica has lived in countless cities throughout the U.S., her heart belongs to San Francisco. To her, there's something seductively romantic about the Golden Gate Bridge, the steep rolling hills of the city streets, the cable cars, and the Victorian-style architecture.

She loves a strong, masculine man with a witty personality. While she is headstrong and extremely independent, she can't resist a man who takes control of the relationship, both outside and inside of the bedroom.

She loves to travel internationally, and tries to plan a yearly trip abroad. She also loves to cook and bake, and--to the benefit of her friends--she loves to share. She also enjoys ceramics and being creative with her hands. She has a weakness for good (maybe bad) TV shows; she's up-to-date on over 25 current shows, and no, that wasn't a joke.

And it goes without saying, she loves books--they're like old and dear friends who have always been there to make her laugh and make her cry.

The one thing she wishes she had more of is time.

I had the chance and pleasure to read this book for an honest review.
When Emma goes on a trip with three of her best friends she finds the man who has been in her dreams.
They share a passion filled night of her last night in Cancun.
She awakes and leaves him a note. Fast forward after graduation and to her new job.....
There is Brandon her new boss and team leader. Does he remember her or not?
I love this story and the fact of how hot the chemistry is between Brandon and Emma is incredible and sexy at the same time.
I am extremely excited to see what happens with Emma and finding her love which I am hoping will be with Brandon.
Jessica wood has done a great job with her first debut book and if the second book is anything like the first then I know
I will enjoy it just as much.

I'm honestly not sure what to say about A Night to Forget. I didn't really get into it, but I didn't dislike it either.

The story begins with Emma having explicit dreams about a gorgeous man she's never met. A few days later, she literally meets the man of her dreams, Brandon, on vacation in Cancun. They share one passionate night, and then she heads home. She's heartbroken. Months later, she begins a new job and, TA DA (!), he's her boss. But here's the catch, Brandon doesn't even seem to remember her. This confuses Emma, but she carries on and they get to know each other better.

There were different aspects to the story that initially confused me, particularly about Brandon and Emma's night in Cancun and his not knowing her when they come face-to-face months later. But happily, these issues make sense by the end of the story. That made me happy.

I'm still not quite sure what about A Night to Forget didn't quite work for me. Maybe it was Emma's melodramatic nature. I think part of it is because I wanted to know why and how Emma was having very specific dreams about a very specific person she'd never met. One she just happens to meet in the real world. Also, the story just kind of ends, at a big cliffhanger. I know this type of story seems to be really popular right now, but I think I might prefer to just read the two stories back-to-back.

    So yeah...I guess that's it.

I am still sorting through all my emotions from this book! This

I am still sorting through all my emotions from this book! This is author Jessica Wood's breakout novel and she has made me a major fan! L-O-V-E-D it!!!

Ok so the book starts off nice and steamy with Emma and Mr. Hottie and then we find out its a dream! I wish I had dreams like that!!!

Emma has had some very bad experiences early on and is still a virgin being a senior in college. Her boyfriend for a year Mike thinks he waited enough and they end up breaking up the day before she is to leave on spring break for Cancun. While in Cancun she is left behind and ends up meeting Brandon, who happens to be the man of her dream, LITERALLY!!! They spend the night together and she is pretty drunk and they have sex; or do they?!?

Emma wakes early and realizes she is going to miss her flight and leaves Brandon an note with her number, but never hears from him! :( She is heartbroken and confused.

A few months later Emma starts her new job, and her new boss is none other than Brandon!!! Problem is Mr. Hottie can't seem to remember her! Was she that insignificant? She tries so hard to keep a brave face and pretend she doesn't care. She starts noticing little things and tries to convince herself she is imagining him caring to save her heart from another disappointment. One night in D.C. something happens to Emma that brings them closer and she learns what is really going on.

I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, knew it was going to happen and imagined many different senerios. BUT.... What actually does happen I did NOT see coming!!! I will be on pins and needles waiting for book 2 in August!!

This is a MUST read!! I could not put it down. I devoured it and it was delicious!! If this is the beginning for Jessica Wood I cannot wait to see where her talent takes us. :)

    OH MY FREAKIN WOW!

I loved, loved, loved this book. The story line was so great. The characters were perfect. At times I was laughing out loud then at times I was crying my eyes out. Emma is so sweet and kind of naive. Her friends were so funny they cracked me up but she couldn't have asked for better friends. Brandon is sex on a stick and kind of mysterious. The chemistry between Emma and Brandon was off the charts HOT! I was so glad they finally got what happened in Cancun straightened out. The ending had my heart actually aching for Emma. I can't wait to start the next book to find out if they ever get their HEA. I extremely recommend this book to everyone. It has you feeling such plethora of emotions your sure to thoroughly enjoy it.

    Weak

    ## Emma was stupid and weak. 2 things I hate in a heroine. And the hero? I want her, i don't want her, i want her......jeez, bi-polar much? These characters were so annoying. If a guy doesn't remember sleeping with you or even pretending he doesn't remember, is he really worth the trouble? I think not. Won't be reading book 2.

You won't forget this book in a hurry!

When I started this book I didn't know it was part of a series so I was shocked when it ended on a cliff-hanger! I thought I knew how this book was going to turn out but I was oh so wrong!

Emma is a sweet and innocent young woman who has had a bad past which affects her ability to really let go of her feelings. She is also not a doormat which I love about her.

Brandon is a sexy and handsome man who is really kind to Emma, then something happens and they don't see each other for a while.

Without going into too much detail I had a preconceived idea of what happened to Brandon in between the first time they met and the second time. I was totally wrong and I apologise to Brandon. Well almost!!

It was an easy book to read, but it gathered up its pace at the end and a few things happened in a short space of time which ramped up the intrigue level.

I don't think anyone can read this book without wanting to read the next instalment. Jessica Wood certainly has a knack for leaving the reader begging for more!

I give this book 4.5 stars and will be waiting very (un)patiently for the second instalment!!

    Enjoy!!

This is another one of those books that had me hooked with the synopsis and consumed by the end of the first Chapter. I devoured this book in bed last night, with the pouring rain outside as a backdrop to this sweet story.

A Night To Forget tells the story of Emma, a young woman who has a simplistic, orderly life that is void of any real passion. At the least the kind of passion that invades her dreams at night, in the form of a gorgeous, dark haired, dimpled man who sparks Emma’s desires. When Emma comes face to face with the man of her dreams while holidaying in Cancun, they share an unexpected night of passion. Once Emma returns to her life however, she comes to terms with the notion that she may never see him again. When the gorgeous Brandon renters Emma’s life again, Emma’s world is turned on its head as the gorgeous man of her dreams is now her boss. But as the two spend time together working one on one, will Emma’s deepening feelings for this gorgeous dream man be reciprocated, or will Brandon failing to remember the events of that one electrifying night ruin everything?

What I utterly loved about this book was the little surprising moments that were beautifully weaved throughout the story. The moment that you thought everything was sweet and almost too perfect; Jessica Wood smacked the notion down with a little twist. It is hard to believe this is a debut novel, the plot was consuming and the pace was kinetic and I found myself anxiously captivated to see where this story would take me.

The characters were entertaining and well developed. Emma is an endearing and likeable heroine, her shyness and awkward nature balance well with the enigmatic and somewhat dominating nature of Brandon.

Brandon’s character is a dreamy amalgamation of the perfect man. He is sweet, charming, sexy and the little elements of over protectiveness he displays around Emma were well written and added a level of intensity to this book.

This was an endearing and thoroughly enjoyable read, that also contained some angst that added a deeper underlying meaning to the story. This is a book that is exciting nonetheless and I found the fast pace (which was due to my impatient need to devour the story) to be refreshing. My only wish was that it was longer. I just wanted to keep reading this story and see the relationship develop even further between these two characters.

Jessica Wood concludes the first instalment leaving you on the edge of your seat and the space wide open for the sequel to Emma and Brandon’s story – which will be seen in The Day To Remember (Emma’s Story #2), releasing in August 2013.

I truly loved this book and would definitely read it again. I highly recommend it to everyone, and especially those out there like me, who love reading a good romance book. Now it’s just another impatient wait until August for The Day To Remember.

I liked the concept of the book. What I didn’t like was Emma’s dreams about this guy she never met but longs for and then she ends up meeting him. I thought for the genre of the book was in that this was just too fake and supernatural to flow with the book. This “dream” also never expanded into anything more. It was there and then forgotten. I just felt that it was too much for this book and wasn’t a good detail for the author to include in this story. After that section of the book it seemed to go pretty well. Then the whole drama with Brandon and if he actually likes Emma came in. I was never sure if he was using her or messing with her or actually cared for her. It went back in forth throughout the book and left me in confusion at the end.

Emma was an okay character. I liked how she tried to keep it professional between her and Brandon, even if she failed. I think that she gave in too soon to her emotions. I felt that at one point she was strong and keeping it professional, then he smiled at her and she was throwing away all her hesitations. She just gave up too easily for me to really actually like her character.

Brandon was an interesting character. One moment he was telling Emma that they were going to stay professional, then he was getting jealous when she hung out with another co-worker. His back and forth emotions confused me and I felt that he wasn’t even genuine half the time. By the end of the book I still wasn’t sure if he was the good guy or the bad guy.

The end of the book was a major cliff hanger and I am curious to see how the next book turns out. I am still having mixed feelings on this book so I might have to read it a few more times before I get into it enough to spend money on the next.

***I received this eARC for my honest review and opinion.***
