Meet the Author

I'm Cal Noble and I'm a horror-holic. I love scary things. I read a lot of horror and I write mostly horror.

Fans of horror know that term can mean a lot of different things. In general, I do not write splatterpunk. I loved the gorefests of the Eighties like the Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the Thirteenth movies, but I don't write like that.

I typically write supernatural suspense and supernatural thrillers. I like the traditional antagonists: ghosts, demons, Satan, witches, etc.

In general, I prefer to write about realistic characters who find themselves in very screwed-up situations.

I studied creative writing at the University of Alabama.

Currently, my wife and I live in north Alabama with two wicked cats and a demon dog.

    Two quick reads

Tho not as creepy as the cover suggests, I recommend this if you are in the mood or need to get a quick reading break in. Both shorts are well written and makes you wonder when you are done. Author did a good job.

"A Pair of Creepy Shorts" by Cal Noble is rather aptly

"A Pair of Creepy Shorts" by Cal Noble is rather aptly named. The two tales included, are "Review", about a young woman contemplating suicide; and "Uncollected Temptation", about a man down on his luck who unknowingly makes a deal with the devil, but is looking for a way to get out of his end of the bargain.

Of the two, I think the first story is the creepier. The second one is almost humorous by comparison. But both make for a quick read, and are entertaining. I recommend this as one of those "short" reads to have on hand for when you're stuck waiting in line somewhere, or waiting for the nurse to call your name at your doctor's office.

    Ok

The two stories sort of tie in together but the second was better than the first. Ok if you want something fast to pass a little bit of time.

    Really well written

I didn't fully understand the first story, but i still enjoyed it because it was so well writen. The second story was a bit predictable, but again, i really liked it because it was told well.
