The Peoples History of The great Recession has put stories of those everyday people who have endured the most severe downturn of our economy since the great depression. The book desribes the frustrations and feelings of those people who have been severly impacted by this current trend.
It is an important book to read if you are an everday person so you can have a realistic understanding of how institutions can dramatically effect your life.

He brings out one sob story after another about people who have lived off unemployment for 99 weeks and then we should feel sorry for them because their free ride is finally at an end.
I'd like to see statistics as to what percentage of people after living off unemployment for 99 weeks find a job in the next week. That would be more interesting than this book. The 2 cases I knew personally they were both opposed to going back to work because that had to end their "under the table work." That hadn't been full time, but with those jobs and their unemployment they made more than they could working full time and for less work. Another part of the book was a rant against big banks. WHy not try small banks?
