Overview

Playing with pain can put you in a world of hurt…or bliss.

Delta Heat, Book 3

Playing switch in front of a La Forge BDSM club audience was supposed to be a one-time fling. A favor for a friend. Instead, when Craig Eason realizes he’s caught the attention of an enigmatic, powerful Dom across the crowded room, he senses this could be the man he’s been looking for to test the boundaries of his own sexuality.

Firefighter Aiden Byrne is a very private man with strong S&M longings he keeps in check for everyone else’s safety. His sub, Jennifer Callum, thinks she likes it rough, but he can’t let go the way he’d like to. Until one defiant stare from the handsome cop on the La Forge stage causes Aiden’s most dangerous needs to uncoil from the deepest, darkest part of his soul.

With the blessing—and active involvement—of his sub, a seduction is set in motion that ends in a scene that shakes them all to the core…

Warning: Contains a powerful, burly firefighter who plans to take everything a hot cop thinks he knows about himself and send it up in smoke. Please replace the batteries in all your smoke detectors before reading this book. Contains scenes with m/m/f, m/m, spanking, flogging, restraints, and one wild orgy of pleasure.

Includes a point of view not usually taken

While this book does not have to be read in succession with the rest of the series, it is recommended, as the other books provide insight to relationships and references mentioned within the book. This highly sexual book contains M/F/M and M/M scenes, as well as medium BSDM content.

Jenn Callum manages a BDSM club, has seen it all, and wants nothing but Aiden Byrne. Aiden Byrne is a Dom that likes it rough, but can only deliver that edge with men, seeing women as too delicate. Craig Eason is a switch who likes to give and receive, but refuses to submit to just anyone. Jenn understands that Aiden, while committed, is unable to provide her the level of pain she needs to be fulfilled. She also knows that, in holding back, he’s not fulfilling his need to lash his subs to the extent he wants. She decides that bringing Craig into their fold will help them both get what they want. Craig can dominate her and give Aiden a sub to control.

Read this book to be excited, but don’t hope to fall deeply in love with the characters. There isn’t enough in the book to understand what drives Jenn, Aiden, or Craig other than short backstories of their careers and their desires for each other. Additionally, while titillating the senses, the book but lacks a true climax beyond the bedroom. There isn’t enough conflict in the plot for anything to actually be resolved, so there isn’t enough need for a true pivotal point in the story.

Overall, I was happy with the book and would recommend it. It includes a point of view not usually taken: a m¿nage with a female, a dominant male lover, and a switch male. The relationship dynamics, while built quickly, are approached carefully to help the reader understand what each person in the trio is feeling as the bond is building. I look forward to the next book in the series, but hope it gives more to the characters and plot than this one did.

    Sensuous Menage Romance

After reading Devlin's short story in The Mammoth Book of Futuristic Romance, I decided to try one of her longer works. The Perfect Trifecta is sensual, sexy, and not for the prudish. It is exactly what it advertises itself to be: BDSM menage.

The Perfect Trifecta is a quick and highly entertaining read. My only complaint is that, while the three leads all have great chemistry, virtually no backgroud was provided for any of them; that would have strengthened the characterization.

I will definitely be tracking down more of Devlin's stories. Recommended to fans of Joey Hill and Jory Strong. -- lyradora

A Perfect Trifecta is Delilah Devlin's third book in her Delta H

A Perfect Trifecta is Delilah Devlin's third book in her Delta Heat series.  This is a seriously hot read so be warned.  I've liked Craig from the first book so I was happy to read his story, definitely did not disappoint. If you like spicy reads, I highly recommend this series.

    Three stars, but

I gave this 3 stars because Devlin writes very well. This scene with the male dominating male is not something I like to read, but Devlin's style at least got me to read the whole book.
