A highly entertaining look at each of the 50 State Quarters

As a coin collector I have wanted to buy a book about the State Quarter Program since the series began in 1999. But it hardly seemed worthwhile because most of the designs had not been selected, and a book with many blank spaces was not worth the expense. This is not a numismatic book per say. It is somewhat like the books that Arlie Slabough wrote back in the late 1960s and mid `70s about the old commemorative coins. The purpose is to present the designs and then discuss the symbolism and history that surround them. The each state quarter has a chapter, and the pose is light and breezy. It¿s the type book where you can skip around and read the chapters that interest you most, although all of them are uniformly good. If you are interested in mintages, pricing history or ¿investment potential,¿ this book is not for you. But if you would like to learn about the symbolism and history on each State Quarter it is a fun read.
