A Portrait of Dylan: Influences 1969-1970

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Steve Leggett
Tracing Bob Dylan's musical influences would pretty much amount to a whole history of American vernacular music, since Dylan has embraced almost every possible roots thread over the course of his career, somehow amazingly reintegrating it into his own singular style that, like it or not, has really changed very little, although much is made of his various "phases." It all pretty much comes out like Dylan. This set, aside from the Dylan angle, is interesting simply as a varied playlist that hits almost every corner of American music, from country to radio pop.
