Overview

There are many stretches and therapies out there that can be beneficial for your horse and help with all of these issues. But if you're not having fun doing it and your horse isn't having fun doing it, what is the likelihood that you will do them consistently enough to make a difference?

One of the biggest obstacles I have encountered as an equine massage therapist is getting my clients to do the follow up exercises that their horses need in order to keep them on the right track between massage sessions. Let's face it, most of us have a limited amount of time to spend with our horses, and we'd much rather be playing and having fun with them than doing boring stretches and warm up exercises.

Taking specific games and exercises from the Parelli Natural Horsemanship program, I show you how to zero in on the issues that are holding your horse back, improve performance and your horse's attitude by offering therapies based on the activities that you are already doing with your horse.

About the Author

Lisa Carter is a Certified Equine Massage Therapist serving locations around North & Central Texas since 2007. She incorporates her knowledge and experience with Parelli Natural Horsemanship and as a veterinary technician to provide her clients with the resources they need to make informed decisions for their horses. She works with clients to build a network of equine health care professionals that will work together to find the best combination of therapies to meet the needs of the "whole horse".

Lisa lives on her small ranch in North Texas with her husband, daughter and menagerie of pets that range from purebred Arabian horses to guinea pigs! Since childhood Lisa has had a passion for all things horse. In 2002 her husband brought home three beautiful older Arabian mares and she never looked back. In 2005 she started her first horse-related business as an equine photographer and videographer of local Parelli Natural Horsemanship clinics and has strived to incorporate her love of horses into all aspects of her business.

She currently runs a natural horse care website, providing natural products, articles and information to help horse owners find natural inexpensive alternatives to common problems. Identifying the difference between what is posture and what it conformation can provide essential clues that can help people teach their horse to move in a more balanced way and improve their performance dramatically.
