Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Marilyn Courtot
This charming poetic text describes Christmas time as seen, smelled, and sensed by a beautiful black-and-white cat. Both the author and the illustrator know cats and their behavior-Anne Mortimer is an eminent painter of cats. The attraction of the tissue paper, ribbons and shinny balls on the tree are just too much to resist and pussycat finally gets put out in the hallway, but not before she has shared her view of all the Christmas preparations and decorations. 1998 (orig.

I loved the book it was bright and colorful! And that it was all written as seen through the eyes of 'pussy cat' was wonderful. My two and a half year old son just loved it! We read it over and over again!! Terrific illustrations...You will love the expression the cat makes ..so real to life.

I thought that the text in the book would be too long for my 3 year old son, but he sits still and listens with rapture to the text and loves the pictures. He even quotes the book throughout the day. I guess his love of cats helps too.

A sweet classic book with beautiful new illustrations - the cat is so lifelike, she could hop right off the page. You can just feel her fur and hear her little voice asking to be let in.
