    If you are a westerns kind of person, this series might be just

    If you are a westerns kind of person, this series might be just the ticket for you. 

    In Volume Nine, Defenders of the Mission. Ranger Tim Bannon and his trusty horse, Rowdy, have been following a bad guy named Chuck Morrell all across Texas, north to south and east to west. He nearly catches up with the outlaw when he comes down with an influenza.

    He manages to make it to the Mission of Santa Clara, but he's laid low by the bug. He's afraid he's lost Morrell for sure, but there's not much he can do about it until he has a bit more strength than the average new-born kitten. He's just getting back on his feet when outlaws attack the mission, hot on the heels of.... (Nope, not gonna tell ya.)
