A Rat for a Rat by Angelika Rust is an adventurous tale that delves deep into tradition and pride. Two rival clans are threatened by war. The two rival clans known as "the Rats" and "the Wolves" are finding their beloved members dead. With the land of Istonnia in recovery from a war that once threatened the well-being of its inhabitants, there is treason on the horizon. As both clans proclaim their innocence, war seems inevitable. When a huge disaster rocks the city, both clans agree that the time for words is over. What will become of Instonnia's heir? Sometimes peace can be found through what we all hold dear ... love.

A Rat for a Rat is an action packed adventure. I grew to love the main character "Nivvo." His unorthodox ways of solving problems made for a great story. Never have I been so consumed by emotion as I was when I shared the hopes and fears of Istonnia. Ms. Rust is very good at building imagery. I fell in love with the healers of the city. The harsh work that the healers faced made them seem so human, and the story of the clans fighting so hard to find the true culprit that was inching this city toward war made this great story come to life. I think that you will love the passion present in every word of this wonderful tale. Come along for a journey through a timeless literary treasure.
