A Revolution in Arms: A History of the First Repeating Riflesby Joseph G. Bilby
Clearly written in a vivid and compelling style, A Revolution in Armsis among a handful of works to provide both a comprehensive history of the development of a weapons technology- in this case, the repeating rifle- and how this was ultimately employed during America's internecine struggle. With this effort, Joseph Bilby has emerged among the frontrunners of a new school of Civil War military history that is both more encyclopedic and ecumenical in treatment and scope than has been previously available.
