I love Monique's books! This is #7 in the Out Of Time series...(First of all, read the other 6 books, they are so good!) This one is as well. She is a master at creating characters that are believable...both the wonderful and the truly awful. Her stories transport you to another time and place with her vivid, detailed descriptions. This is a true gift & the reason I love fiction. To get carried away by someone else's imagination & taken along on a journey...just for the fun of it! (This time to 1888 London.) All of Simon & Elizabeth's adventures in history are just so much fun! Monique crafts stories that have a little bit of everything...time travel, history, intrigue, mystery, humor, love & did I say fun? I always start reading them and don't want to stop until I'm finished! (Sleep is overrated!) :-) I stay up way too late & keep turning the pages! Compared to the other 6 books, this one was much shorter...so I was actually able to read it in one sitting. (which I loved for once.) The downside of that being that it was over too soon!!! (More pages please?) So now I will wait (somewhat) patiently for the next installment of the Out Of Time series. I want to know what happens next!!! (& I really missed Jack!) Even though I received an ARC...(which goes on my overdrive media console) I purchased it immediately, so that it can sit on my Out Of Time shelf on my nook along with the other 6! (Right where it belongs!) :-) Keep them coming Monique! Everyone should buy these books! Now I'm going to go start over with book#1 and read them all...again! :-)

These books have been very enjoyable. They keep me wanting to read more. I have read all 7 and am looking forward to the next one. Once I start reading her books, I don't want to put it down. When they are at the end, I don't want them to end. Good reading!! Donna Brown, Florida

One quibble- the reference to a Thomas' guide map should have been the London A to Z . I liked George and felt that he got short shrift at the end considering how important his character was to the plot - no descriptions even of goodbyes. I felt the character of Katherine Vale and her evolution in the story was a handled a bit simplistically & rather quickly. I guessed who the Ripper but thought it would impact Vale's mental state much more, perhaps explain part of it. However, full marks for making me feel I was back in that time period. Wonder what's in store for Victor...

Totally enjoyed a rip in time. I have been totally hooked on the out of time series and in book 7 I was happy that I got as much enjoyment out of it as I did the others. Great author!

I love all of the Out of Time books, but I believe that A Rip in Time is probably my favorite so far. I can't wait  to see what and when Monique Martin comes up with next. Simon and Elizabeth are the Dynamic Duo!

I'm a big "Ripper" fan, something about the while Victorian era is intriguing, and the mystery surrounding Jack the Ripper is, well, mysterious! This latest installment of Monique Martins' "Out of Time" series is fascinating.......she does a marvelous job (as always) of not only bringing her characters to life, she brings them to life IN Victorian England........the way she describes the people, places and events of the period always have me researching! Whether it is looking up the clothing of the era, to get an idea of how Elizabeth is dressed, the food, or the places.........this time it was Brown's Hotel and the Crystal Palace Bazaar...I am transported back in time myself. Love it!

A Rip in Time was just as enthraaling as her previous novels.  Quite a different take on  Jack the Ripper. Simon And Elizabeth are quite the sleuths and Monique adds just the right amount of romantic flair to her novels with them.  I was a bit leary of Victor in the story but he definitely grows on you..  I think she should keep him as a character i in her incoming  "Time" series, but I also hope that she brings Jack back, I think he belongs Asa character in these novels.  Can't wait for the next one to come out

Another fantastic read from Monique Martin. A page turner that I could not put down, London in the 1800's and the imagination and intrigue keeps you going. Love the relationship of Elizabeth and Simon. These two will keep you coming back for more adventure. If you haven't stated this series, Why Not. Great read Can't wait for the next one, but definitely tooo short.

This book is AWESOME!!! I couldn't put it down! The mystery in this one will keep you guessing all the way to the end. This book goes more toward mystery than love story, but it was perfectly written! Monique Martin has written one of the best series I have ever read! If you haven't read this series, DO IT!! you will not regret it! I can't wait for #8!

I agree that it the book was too short. It was so good, it was hard to put down! Fans of the series will not be disappointed. The details really brought to places and characters to life as Monique always does so well. Anxiously awaiting the next installment to see what trouble Simon and Elizabeth get into next :)
