The First Victim, Chapter One, Book One of The Secret Files

I shivered as I walked along the hazardous, icy road. Someone, I thought, shall die. I yawned sleepily, wishing I had not stayed up doing homework. I would probably fall asleep during school. Yippe. That has detention written all over. I stopped walking, my purple Converse sneakers making a loud crunch in the ice. I checked my watch and groaned. My bus was late by 5 minutes. I'm pretty sure I'll turn into a giant Tally-sicle. Oh wait that reminds me. My name is Tally Patterson. Ha. I know right? Tally. My ears started buzzing. Softly at first, but then it got really crazy loud. I pressed my hands against my ears, but it didn't help. I groaned and started walking toward the direction of my house, but then it happened.. There. Right there. The moment that changed my life forever. Every thing seemed fuzzy and sluggish, like moving in slow motion. Then a dark man leapt out of the bushes, holding a small silver hand gun. The bullet found it's way to my skull. I hit the ground, screaming. My last sight of life was this. I heard foot steps and regonized them. I cracked into a smile when I saw the face of my best-friend, Chase. He kinda looked....I dunno...mad. Angry. "Good-bye", I whispered smiling. I closed my eyes, but before I did, I saw the dark man run away, nearly crashing into Chase. Then, my world went dark. But not forever....
