“A Rooster Once Crowed is a study which is broad in scope, accessible to seekers and – from my perspective as a Messianic Jewish rabbi – sensitive to the nuances of Yeshua (Jesus). Take your time with this material. You won’t be disappointed.”

* * *

We live in those few moments between the first and the second crow of the rooster—between decision and indecision, between knowing and being known.
But do you even care? Small decisions made today establish our path for all time, and yet we piddle with a piece of this and a taste of that. We diet on wisdom from antiquity and gorge on culture that is next month’s joke.
This story is an opportunity to gorge on Scripture—from Genesis to Revelation—in context. It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and an opportunity to see for yourself what it actually is, rather than what we mold it to be and to finally choose whether or not to care.
Through small stories and a modern context, this book will help you understand and decide what you believe about the greatest story ever told.

Meet the Author

I didn't set out to write a book. I wasn't against it, but I got to this point much as most folks get on a ride at Disney World: they weigh the time it will take to get through the line they can see, and by the time they figure out how long the line really is, they've invested too much to step out. That doesn't sound especially spiritual, but for me, this whole process was. And what a great ride it has been. You can find more about it at fullporchpress.com.In 2012 I was preparing for humiliation. I'd committed to teaching a big Sunday school class (Family Ties) at a big church (Peachtree Road United Methodist Church) without any notes. I had no idea what I was going to say until the Thursday before, when I saw, as clearly as you could see and describe a painting, a picture of the Gospel.Since that Sunday in October, I have stood in as many lines as possible to share this story of the Gospel. And while I don't claim to have all the answers, my prayer is that something in this little sacrifice of paper and ink will resonate with you. I sincerely hope that you will see God's truth and the Gospel through this book and invite you to follow our progress at fullporchpress.com for more on this important mission. Because in this church of lions, I'm bringing a turtledove--not even two.Other than this, I'm a lover of Jesus, a husband to one of the greatest God ever made, dad to three of the next greatest, a commercial real-estate broker for hospitals and physicians, a sometime fisherman, and an even lesser golfer.

Bryant Cornett brings us a fresh look and a new understanding of

Bryant Cornett brings us a fresh look and a new understanding of the greatest story ever told - updated with today's understanding of the ancient words of a story written so many centuries ago.

"A Rooster Once Crowed" takes a hard look at scripture from Genesis to Revelation and shows us how this story is still relevant to out lives even in our modern times. It is a commentary that shows us how the story of Jesus Christ affected our lives hundreds of years ago and still affects our lives today.

This is one of the best commentaries I have read in a long while. It will make you think and even have a "light bulb" moment or two. If you are looking for a better understanding of the story of Jesus and how it pertains to your life today, this book is an excellent place to start.

I did recieve a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

"A Roster Once Crowed: A Commentary on the Greatest Story E

"A Roster Once Crowed: A Commentary on the Greatest Story Ever Told" is an amazingly well written and thoughtout book. I admit that I had to go through this book slowly, not because it was hard to read, but because it has a lot to think about! Some of the truths hit home for me and they might for you too!

Bryant Cornett uses a lot of scripture and will quickly have you reading many verses from your Bible, searching out truths for yourself. He discusses topics like Creation, the Trinity, heaven, the fall and LOVE. Cornett adds plenty of stories dealing with issues from current events in our world today. He shows us how we must each take responsibility for our choices, and not sit back and wait for others to act. "A Rooster Once Crowed" will encourage you to make a decision for Christ, and/or help you learn to love Him even more than you already do. It will also remind you of how very much you are loved by Him. I beleive this book has information for everyone, from unbeleivers to rock solid Christians!

In-Depth & Rich Commentary A Rooster Once Crowed surprise

    In-Depth & Rich Commentary

A Rooster Once Crowed surprised me. I'm not sure what I was expecting from this book, but the author has written an in-depth commentary rich with biblical history and scripture to support it. In the introduction the reader is asked to make a decision, to remain in the world of familiarity or to change course and run toward the realization of the truth. This decision will determine how one believes and live out the future. This is a journey in God's love, the Gospel of Jesus Christ from the Cross to Revelation.

Bryant Cornett uses scriptural examples and suggested readings throughout the Bible, from Creation, the Trinity, heaven, the Fall, the prophets, the gospels through Revelation. The reader is invited to enter the Great Dance which is developed throughout the chapters in this book. The author's own revelations are a key part of this journey toward heaven, and his story is creatively shared for the benefit of the unbeliever or a long-time Christian who hasn't felt passion in his spiritual life. It all begins with a choice.

This book is written with an intensity that is contagious. Mr. Cornett writes with energy and enthusiasm that virtually sings its way throughout his lessons regarding The Greatest Story Ever Told. His story is based on solid foundations through the use of practical verses and passages from the Bible, and his excitement about living for God is contagious! There is much to be gained from this book. I intend to use it for a greater in-depth study for my own benefit. I would be more inclined to use this like a devotional, with time each day to reflect on the lessons this book has to offer. I recommend reading this book. It's an education and a revelation.

A Rooster Once Crowed is a great book that really takes you from

A Rooster Once Crowed is a great book that really takes you from Genesis and the creation through the new church in Revelations. It is the point of decision where you take the bible stories from Sunday School and turn them into life transforming direction. Mr. Cornett offers some great insight as he breaks down things like the Trinity, opening my eyes to some things that I’ve just always “known” in church to truly understanding.

There are so many awesome points in this book. Mr. Cornett says, “When the fact that an all-powerful God of heaven and earth became a seed and was torn for you – when that becomes your Fundamental truth, then it is your absolute pleasure to obey.” (p. 121)

In speaking of the crucifixion, a powerful statement he makes reads, “Finally, you must bury the cross deep within your heart. Read and work through the Gospels and this sacrifice until it melts you. Imagine what it must have been like to stand in Jerusalem. How did the blood of Jesus, mixed with dirt and sweat, smell? How did it feel to stand by and see 400 pounds of wood and flesh drop nine inches into the groove that had been cut to hold it?” (p.120)

This book takes the believer into the deeper realm of understanding and not just common “feel good” church messages. “A rooster once crowed cannot be uncrowed. The first crow of the rooster if familiar. It is the moment you recognized something as true and stop and try to remember how you know it. The first crow of the rooster is the reminder that you’re late, but still have time to make it on time. It is the moment of opportunity.” (p.200)

I would absolutely recommend this book as not only a commentary but as an attitude adjuster. I received this book from the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.

Bryant Cornett has recently released a great and thought-provoki

Bryant Cornett has recently released a great and thought-provoking new book on Jesus’ life, ‘A Rooster Once Crowed’. Its subtitle is ‘a commentary on the greatest story ever told’, based on a vision the author had one night when preparing a lesson for his Sunday School class. What choice do we make after hearing the rooster crow the first time, as Peter did on the night that Jesus was on trial, after being told by Jesus that before the rooster crowed twice, that he, Peter, would deny knowing Jesus twice? Do we choose to enter into God’s love and care for us? What is the cost of entering – or not entering? Do we have, or wish to acquire, a yearning for heaven?
Supported by textboxes of relevant scripture on each page, Mr. Cornett explains in detail the basic truths of the gospel in a way that blesses and challenges while inviting the reader to join the Dance. The Dance is the eternal dance that we will thrill in for all eternity in heaven with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is also the right view of the Dance and the skills we choose to acquire while we are alive on this earth. These include the (Dance) Step – Service, the Beat (of the Dance) – Love, and the Tune – Belief.
This is a book to read and re-read, as the highlighting, margin questions, and flags hanging from many pages of my copy attest to. It can be extremely useful for the new believer and the seasoned believer who is further along on their faith journey. It is also invaluable for those who have begun to question what they really believe either as a crisis based on personal experiences or determining if belief in God makes sense to the intellectual in our rapidly-changing world.
‘A Rooster Once Crowed’ will bless you. It will challenge you, teach you, share God’s incredible love for you, and whether or not you need it, give your faith a new injection of hope, and increase your yearning for your heavenly home. I highly recommend this book, as well as the author’s suggestion of reading through one of the four gospels in the New Testament concurrently.
I received a copy of this book through the “For Readers Only” group at The Book Club Network, in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own, and no monetary compensation was received for this review.

A Rooster Once Crowed a commentary on the greatest story ever told by Bryant Cornett
I found this book to be engaging, well thought out and researched thoroughly. The author Bryant Cornett clarifies and explains scripture in a modern day way that brings story of God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit into real life understanding. He goes from Genesis to Revelations breaking down and explaining scripture using small stories. I give this book 4 stars and would recommend it to others. He even provides access to a 30 minute video teaching on the concept of the book.
I want to thank the author Bryant Cornett, the publisher and The Book Club Network for providing me with this book in exchange for my honest review. I am grateful from your generosity.

    A Rooster Once Crowed
    By: Bryant Cornett

The title sounded interesting not sure what it was going to be about. Glad I got it. Starts off talking about how Peter denied Christ 3 times. Then I knew where the book was going. Talks about the greatest story ever told. I know there are people out there who don’t believe in the bible, but Bryant did a great job with scripture to show us the truth. I really enjoyed the book and all the scripture to back up what he is saying.

"A Rooster Once Crowed" by Bryant Cornett  is a fascin

"A Rooster Once Crowed" by Bryant Cornett  is a fascinating exploration of the power and faith that comes from God's love inherent in
the Christian faith. He begins the examination of the love of God and his Son at the beginning, in Genesis, when together they formed
heaven, earth, Adam and Eve; the lineage of man. I was challenged by his questions and thoughts on; how much do we know about
heaven, what compelled Cain to kill Abel and even how long did it take Adam to take a bite from the apple. From Creation, through the
prophets to the Cross we are given insight not only into God's great love for man, but the Fall because of sin and separation from God,
and the debt paid by Jesus's sacrifice to bring mankind back into God's plan.

Using Biblical passages, commentary and personal anecdotes Bryant takes us on a journey that will either help us to accept or to affirm
our faith, to choose to follow Christ to serve and love others or to negate it. It is a powerful book when coupled with Biblical scripture and
opens us up to the truth of our belief and all it encompasses. I know I gained a new perspective on the Trinity, heaven's purpose for man,
Jesus's thoughts before his death, and the future dominion of God's kingdom on earth.

I liken this book to food for a hungry soul and highly recommend it.

Whether you are hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the first

Whether you are hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the first time or have been a believer all of your life, Bryant Cornett encourages, prods, and challenges you to consider the greatest (love) story ever told like you have never done so before. He is a brilliant writer and I was enthralled from the very first chapter. I encourage you (I even dare you) to read it, and give it away to someone that you know needs to hear the Gospel in a way that is personal and inviting. I cannot recommend this book highly enough!

I read the first chapter 3 times...so powerful when I realized I am the wayward daughter. This book grabs you, places you in the gospel story...but doesn't stop there. The author then walks you through a detailed commentary on the good news - from "the beginning" through eternity. Cornett energetically & unapologetically presents the gospel of Jesus Christ. A great read both for anyone wanting to think deeply about God for the first time, as well as for equipping disciples to take their own relationship with God more seriously

A Rooster Once Crowed: Leader¿s Study Guide By Bryant Cornett

A Rooster Once Crowed: Leader’s Study Guide
    By Bryant Cornett
    Publ: Carpenter’s Son Publ. c. 2014

Are you looking for a Bible study that will increase your faith and leave you more grounded. This study of the Greatest Story Ever Told will definitely meet your needs. Looking at Peter’s response to the cock’s crows after he has denied Jesus, you are taken on a search for where your faith is and where you want it to be.
Having led various Bible studies I can say that this is one of the best laid out leader’s guides that I have seen. The information is readily available, but there are choices to fit the group with which you are working. The resources offered are in a variety of forms to spark the interest and discussion in a wide range of group settings.
After comparing the leader’s guide to the actual study guide I was impressed with the flow between the two.
If you are looking for a compelling Bible study with a leader’s guide to help you each step of the way I suggest that you look closely at this one. And as is often the case, the one leading the group will definitely get the most out of the study group.

A Contemporary Look at the Magnitude of God’s Love and Plan for Man’s Redemption

Bryant Cornett has a sincere desire that “A Rooster Once Crowed” will be an accurate portrayal, a true representation of the Gospel in story. The book unlocks the key message of the “greatest story ever told,” the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, God’s Son.

Thought provoking passages, personal observations, examples, and simple and profound questions encourage the reader to consider those basics tenets of the faith so often misunderstood or misinterpreted.

The additional suggested readings from the Scriptures at the end of each chapter in the “before you go on section” provide helpful passages for “investigative study” or for reflection and contemplation. They re-enforce the material in the chapter to follow. A complete scripture index and reference notes are provided for further reference.

“A Rooster Once Crowed” is offered as a sacrifice of love with the prayer that the reader will catch a glimmer of the magnitude of God’s love by sending His Son to earth to become the sacrifice for our sins.

A complimentary copy of this book was provided for review purposes. The opinions expressed are my own.
