A Runner's Journal: To Boston & Beyond chronicles the experiences of a runner from childhood through early adulthood. Then over twenty years later this runner, Will Hostetler, describes his re-enchantment with running as it now becomes a source of strength and a pastime that helps him maintain his sanity as a middle-aged single dad. While in his early twenties Will had no difficulty qualifying for the Boston Marathon. He tells the story (drawing directly on journal entries from 1981-1984) of his experiences of running on the road to his first Boston Marathon, then twenty-two years later he picks up the narrative again. Now, along with training for the Chicago marathon, Will combines his love of running with his other passions, such as his campaigns to get "Single Parent Day" on the calendar and to generate support for the "I Ran for Iran" peacemaking plan.
