Overview

Wanted: one wife, one baby. Love not required.

Navy SEAL Boone Rudman has six months to find a wife and get her pregnant or he'll lose his chance to win 1500 acres of prime Montana ranch land. So when he discovers Riley Eaton living on his new ranch, all grown up from the tomboy she used to be, he decides she'll do for his bride-whether or not she's got other plans.

Riley Eaton quit her job, sold her car and moved to Chance Creek with her friends to pursue the dreams she'd put on hold for far too long. She has no idea her uncle sold the ranch out from under her-and has no plans to marry any time soon-but when Boone shows up, sexy as hell after fifteen years in the service, she begins to wonder if her priorities are all wrong.

When duty turns to desire, Boone launches a campaign to win Riley's heart. But is it too little, too late? Or can he convince Riley to forget the past and create a future worth fighting for?

Navy seal meets Regency girl. Boone and Riley were friends growing up, but Boone didn't realize what he had and let it slip away. Riley and her friends wanted to experience Regency living. Boone and his fellow seals want to build a sustainability community. Both groups on the same ranch. Can they make it work? I love this boom and I'm getting the audiobook as well.

I have read all of Cora Seton's Chance Creeks books. This one is really hard for me to continue after four chapters. I just can't get my head wrapped around the storyline especailly Riley and her friends living like it's the 1800's. Maybe a couple days but planning to dress up for 6 months. Boone's idea works for me, but I'm not to crazy about the TV part. That as been done before. I am going to try an finish this book, don't know if I'll make.

I've read about 500 books over the past 3 years and have librarian status on Goodreads and this series has the most ridiculous storyline I've ever read. The idea that people would basically allow themselves to be held hostage by a TV show and be forced to marry and get pregnant all to save the planet from climate change makes me laugh. Then to top that off there are 4 grown women who sell their belongings so they can play dress up in Jane Austen clothing is just plain weird. Cora Seton's other books are so much better.

I hope she goes into a bit more depth with the sustainable energy in the next book. This one sets up the relationship side of things nicely.

I've read all of Cora's Chance Creek series and I think this is the best one yet. If you've read about the cowboys and the heros then you'll be excited to know they are incorporated in this book too. A SEALs Oath just makes you feel more at home and part of the Chance Creek community. I'm bursting at the seams for the release of A SEALs Vow! I highly recommend you give the SEALs a chance to capture your heart.

I think this his her best Chance Creek yet. I enjoyed how she added the Regency Era to this series. The sustainable living is very interesting. She makes a valid point about living a simply life and still having fun.

I loved the premise of this book. Ex-SEALS looking to save the planet and four women seeking to turn back time to when living life was more simple. Plus the history of the property and the history between Riley and Boone.

Cora Seton writes stories that have such great characters that you just have to know what each of their stories are! Characters that all have big personalities and a definite role in their group of friends. This is the case with A SEAL’s Oath, the first in a new series that takes place in Chance Creek, like Cora’s other series. This story is one of awareness! Be it self-awareness, global awareness or just being aware and present in your own everyday life, any reader who has ever dreamed of slower times, will enjoy this story. I am amazed at Cora Seton’s ability to spin the tale of a world that I find I would love to live in! I have often longed for the quiet, slower lives we used to lead. Lives where visiting, and manners, and the arts and consideration of others was really the most important lessons one could live their lives by. Days when friendships and relationships were built on more than just SPEED dating situations and moving in together so you can save money! Times when you made it a priority to consciously make an effort to learn. To learn crafts, processes and about yourself and others. Days when men courted women and women were wooed. That being said, I must warn you that Riley and Boone DO connect quickly, but they grew up together and have a pre-built connection. Boone has learned thru his military career that some wrongs are repeated on a regular basis and are doing nothing but hurting our society and our environment. He, along with his SEAL teammates, believe in living a sustainable life and set about forming a sustainable community while Riley and her girlfriends make an oath to live a “Jane Austin” life! At times, I laughed at the ridiculous things that these characters go thru, but then I would find myself envious of their bravery in taking control of their lives to make a change! Add to all the chaos, some VERY eccentric characters, some old Chance Creek friends, and a cagey money man who has no qualms about blackmailing people into doing what he wants them to do…and you have the makings of yet another fun, Cora Seton series! I suggest you start with The Cowboys of Chance Creek and the Heroes of Chance Creek to get a lay of the land! The only thing I didn't like is how abruptly this book seems to end! Now, I KNOW that all the characters will get their time and that we will see the success or failure of these experiments, but I just wasn't ready for it to end! I want it NOW!!!!
