This won't be a super long review. Just enough to say how much I

This won't be a super long review. Just enough to say how much I love Tawyn Weber. I've got a review schedule of the second book in this series scheduled for March 11 I believe.

Genna - starts out eager to please, needing to make her parents happy to make up for the fact that her brother ended up a total loser, but over the course of Salvation she learns to stand up for what she wants and what she needs. I loved how her obsessive tendency to bake when she's upset (a girl after my own heart, although I'm simply more likely to eat sweets already around than necessarily go to all the trouble of making something else) is the foundation for her drive to start up an actually potentially profitable baking business and to do it in a way that it can accommodate the other changes she's considering making with her life.

Brody - he feels he'll never be more than his drunken father's son, even after he's been away for a decade, having been forced to enlist in the Navy or face trumped-up charges from Genna's father, the local sheriff, after Genna tries to seduce him (that's in the first chapter so I don't consider it a spoiler). He ultimately has never really blamed Genna for his enlistment, and in fact when she writes him about something else, he is willing to engage in a bit of hot (and I do mean hot) flirtation the old-fashioned pen-pal way.

Brody comes home after a mission goes wrong and finally faces down the demons (and Genna) waiting for him in the small town he grew up in. He feels out of place and not worthy of the adoration that so many want to pile on him because he's been recognized by the President for his actions in combat. It's through Genna and his gradual relationship with her that he finally finds a way to heal.

I loved these two on the page together. They both had some heavy burdens they were trying to carry on their own and it was only as they found each other, found ways to be together despite the odds against them, that they managed to deal with their other external problems.

Salvation definitely is the full package - emotional, spiritual (to a minor degree), and character growth all wrapped up in a category-length hot romance novel. You can't ask for much more than that (other than maybe fangs or explosions...but I could just be prejudiced toward that sort of thing - heh).

    5 stars for A SEAL's Salvation!

I received this book "A Seal's Salvation",  from NetGalley for an honest opinion.

I must first say, I really did enjoy this book. I read it in one sitting, which I haven't done with a book in a while.

Coming from a broken home and having to deal with much more than any teenager should, Brody Lane keeps to himself. Especially living in a small town where people talk...
But when one moment of carelessness comes his way, Brody is unable to say no... This moment will change his life.

After spending 10 years in the Navy, Brody is forced to return to his old hometown.. What awaits for him, and will he find his life's purpose..

An easy read that keeps you wanting more.

    4 stars from me.

Seventeen year old Genna had a raging crush on her brother's fri

Seventeen year old Genna had a raging crush on her brother's friend, bad boy Brody Lane. On a dare, she intended to seduce Brody and get a kiss for her efforts. She got more than she bargained for, but the moment was swiftly ruined when her father, the sheriff of Bedford, caught them together. By the time she'd completed her time on house arrest, Brody had left town and joined the Navy. Fast forward ten years later, Genna hasn't had any luck in her dating life, her brother died, her parents still had her under their thumbs and she never forgot about the one that got away.

Brody made something of himself by joining the Navy and becoming a SEAL. Then, out of the blue, he received a letter from Genna telling him about her brother's passing. Genna was not only shocked to have received a reply, but more so by the content of Brody's letter.

The story started of sweetly with the sheriff's daughter and the small town's bad boy making a connection only to be torn apart by an irate and over-protective father. With that lead in to the story, I was supposed to believe that her first kiss and rounding second base with Brody had left such an impact on her that she hadn't forgotten it in ten years. The boyfriends or dates that had come after could never compare to those few minutes of bliss. Anything is possible, so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt.

I had a bit of difficulty getting into this story because of the cliched small town mentality which was laid on very thick throughout the story. Usually I enjoy small town romances because of the sense of community and the humor that can ensue from meddling residents, but Bedford was far from idyllic. Even after ten years, the town hadn't given up on stigmas or gossip. After everything Brody had done, the sheriff was still a thorn in his side, Genna's best friend was quick to put Brody down as the loser bad-boy, and the mayor who was salivating at the mouth to have a huge parade and press coverage for the hometown hero were the icing on the cake. Then there was Genna, the girl who tried so hard to be perfect for her parents to ease the pain and guilt over her brother's shortcomings, which had eventually killed him, that she allowed herself to be manipulated every which way and have her life dictated to her.

As a couple, their first reunion got off to a rocky start which he tried to smoothe over by suggesting they become friends and get to know one another. From there, it was thanks to him that Genna realized she needed to stand up for herself and make changes if she ever wanted to be happy. I had to wonder if she would have continued to bemoan the trajectory her life and done something about it had Brody not returned to shake things up. She did redeem herself towards the end which showed she'd finally done some growing up, and it was finally her turn to save Brody from himself.

For me, it was an okay story. The simple plot line and rather bland characters don't make this a memorable story, but if you love military romances with friends to lovers and second chances tropes, then you'll probably like this.

    Rating: 4.5/5

A SEAL's Salvation was definitely one of my favorite books that I read this month, the characters were very likable and the plot was really good. Tawny Weber does an amazing job creating the perfect bad boy/incredibly hot SEAL. I found myself unable to stop reading the book, it was intrigued and full of sizzling moments. After getting caught misbehaving with Genna Reilly, Brody Lane does the unthinkable when he has to face Genna's father. He is given the choice of joining the navy. Being known for getting in trouble, he knows that by leaving for the navy he was going to leave his family and Genna. He accepts, and leaves everything behind, but he wasn't prepared for what happened to him while in the navy. Years passed and he becomes a celebrated hero, not after suffering the consequence of being away for so long. Now he has secluded himself away from everyone else, distancing himself from those that love him. When Genna learns of his return to town, she finds herself unable to stop thinking about him and that's when she realizes just how much she wants him in her life.

Both characters in the book have a good chemistry, it's evident that they haven't forgotten each other and that's how the story unfolds. Genna has lived a life under her father's shadow and wants to try to break away from it. In contrast, Brody has been through a lot and returning to his old home brings back memories and new found obstacles that he has to face. There is some character development within the story that made the ending that much more enjoyable to read. Overall, the story was sweet and fun read, I highly recommend it.

I read this as part of Harlequin's 'Just Can't Get Enough' Campa

I read this as part of Harlequin's 'Just Can't Get Enough' Campaign.

I really liked the way Brody was portrayed as the resident bad boy - but we were allowed a glimpse inside that showed it was mostly an act.  When his best friend's little sister comes on to him one night, he tries to fight it.  He thought he had done a good job of staying away from her, even though it wasn't really what he wanted.  Unfortunately, soon after he gives in, her sheriff father shows up and reads him the riot act.  He allows himself to be run out of town to save Genna any more wrath from her father and to save his grandmother any more embarrassment.   It was no surprise to me that he rose to the top as a Navy SEAL.

He thought he has put Genna and the small town prejudices behind him, but after receiving a letter from Genna with sad news about his friend and her brother, he seems compelled to writer her back - and so a flirtation develops through the U.S. Mail.  He doesn't think that anything will come of it as he never plans to return - but then a mission goes bad and his grandmother insists he come home to heal.  It is his psyche that is more damaged than his body though, and he doesn't think that it will heal anywhere.

While he has been gone, Genna has become friends with his grandmother, and is secretly thrilled that he is returning home.  She is still under daddy's watchful eye, and thumb, and is even working for the Mayor in a position that her father 'created' and insisted that she take.  It is under this guise that she first visits Brody upon his return home.  The sparks fly, but the reunion ends in flames.

I really enjoyed the way the author brought these two back together after their one fateful tryst - and she doesn't make it easy for them.  She throws conflict after conflict at them and they have to fight each other, circumstances, and Genna's parents to finally realize what it is they really want.

I can't wait to read A SEAL's Kiss and will be reviewing that for you next month as well as bringing you an interview with the series author - Tawny Weber.

    3 1/2 stars

    The Characters...
Genna's dad has always protected her, looked out for her, and flat out run her life. She's put up with it for far too long, trying to keep the peace with her emotional mother and wayward brother but she's had enough. When the sexy Brody comes back from where Genna's father made him go ten years ago, Genna can't resist any longer. I don't think I liked Genna until she decided to stand up to her dad. She's twenty-seven and he's still getting his way. That is so not my personality but when she finally said enough I was so cheering her on. Her passion was obvious and the love she had for her badboy was true. I ended up loving her.

As for Brody, I always loved him. From the minute Genna walked into that garage to seduce the boy I was smitten. So was he though he wouldn't admit it. Too much a of a badboy. I loved how didn't talk but said so much. I loved how he hurt for what he saw has his failure. I loved that tough guy in him that wanted to make things better for Genna even though she had lived the rich life and he had been abused. I loved him.

    The Story...
What's interesting about this story is the holes. I really enjoyed how we started ten years in the past and then moved to the present. I loved how parts that were not really important to the story were not drawn out just make the story fuller. Instead it was sweet and to the point.

I enjoyed the alternating POV. It was the most fun being in Brody's head. When he would like with this other brain and when he would be turned on- it was fun to hear him think.

    Who will enjoy it...
Peeps who like nice HOT chemistry and a straight forward fast story.

Another great installment in the Seal¿s series by Tawny Weber ¿

Another great installment in the Seal’s series by Tawny Weber – Sexy, Sassy and so fun!

Brody Lane goes home after an injury to the town that sent him away to the Navy years prior for dallying with the Sheriff’s Daughter Genna. He wants to heal and deal with survivor’s guilt, not fall back into old patterns of seduction and pleasure with Genna Reilly. Genna has lived her life the way everyone else ¬¬¬has orchestrated for her but now she sees a way to fulfill the passion she sensed years before with Brody Lane.

Can she help Brody heal and find her own inner strength to seize what she wants, even if its against everything her family wants for her?

As with all of Tawny Weber’s books, this installment is sexy and hot, with a bad ass seal and a sweet spitfire heroine. Fantastic story! Highly recommend it!

    4.5 Star Review - A SEAL's Salvation

    I recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book by Tawny. This book includes Erotic fun, passion, laughs, and heartache.

Tawny tells a sassy, sexy story every time!!

Brody "Bad Ass" Lane is back in town after getting injured. He is hurting and just wants to be left alone. Genna has always wanted Brody and she almost had him years ago but her father sent him away to the Navy.

Now that he is back in town she is going to try and get him for herself. But with her family being so controlling will she be able to have him. Will he even want to keep her as much as she wants to keep him?

Will all his issues that brought him home tear them apart just when things are getting good?

Love both of these characters. Brody is tough but also a sweetheart. Hailey is tough and sometimes a pushover. They are both funny and sweet together but still have enough sexy passion to keep you interested in the book.

Tawny Weber does it again with A SEAL¿s Salvation. Another great

Tawny Weber does it again with A SEAL’s Salvation. Another great read in her Sexy SEAL’s series! Brody was run out of town and into the Navy when Genna’s dad caught the two of them. Now, Brody has returned to recuperate from an injury and deal with survivor’s guilt. Genna has always been the good girl to make up for her brothers mistakes. She’s always wanted Brody. How far is she willing to go to finally get him?

Brody is a sexy, wounded hero with a bad childhood. I love this series and Brody is my favorite (just don’t tell the others). The characters leap off the page and draw you in. Everything else fades away except these two and their journey to love that will make you cry and laugh.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a sexy, hot read. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series, A SEAL’s Kiss, in April.

    5 Stars =  A Must Read

    MY REVIEW:
Tawny Weber sure knows how to get things heated, in the most complicating, yet extremely worthwhile fashion!

I loved A SEAL’s Salvation. This book started off with a daring and catchy bang, and ended with such a sweet touch that you couldn’t help but love everything about it.

Typical teenage love story turned adult romance? I think not! This was so much more and despite hearing of similar stories, this one was one I couldn’t put down!

Brody is caught “in the act” with the Sherriff’s daughter, who then gives him two choices: join the military, or get kicked out of town and suffer shame on your family. Being the smart guy we learn him to be, he chooses the latter. Ten years later, a lot of memories that refuse to go away and an injury during a mission and guess who has returned home?

    Oh yes, baby.

I loved this story, the characters, and everything else about it. I’ve read the first two in the series, but I had to do it again simply because the love Tawny provides to these characters is very evident. Any part of these books will grip you, and it’s very much worth the ride. HIGHLY recommend.

    Happy reading!

Holey moley this book is smoking hot!  Tawny has written another

Holey moley this book is smoking hot!  Tawny has written another winner while telling the story of teenage unrequited love.   You will love the third book in the series “Uniformly Hot!”
Zip forward into the future and you have two adults who have now survived not only emotional pain but Brody returns back to the hometown he swore he would never return to after being injured while serving as a Navy Seal.  Watch the fireworks light the sky while Genna and Brody re-discover each other while their unique personalities and life situations pave the way for a tumultuous reunion.
At 17, Genna seduces Brody, who is the best friend of her troubled brother Joe, over a dare.  Brody is run out of town by Genna’s father who is the sheriff in their small town, after he discovers them in a compromising situation.  The Sheriff’s small minded prejudice towards a young man, who is perceived as “not good enough” for his daughter, ends up with Brody leaving town rather than facing trumped up charges.
Brody, code named “Bad Ass”, returns to a town he swore he would never return to, a bitter hero.  While convalescing at his Grandmother’s home, Genna begins wooing him in earnest but Brody is angry and unforgiving.  Genna’s sweet personality, gifted baking skills, and passionate belief in Brody’s attraction to her wins out in the end but not before the adage “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach”, is put to the test.

Enjoy the maze that is the relationship that was destined to be.
