Sometimes love is right where you left it.

Carlos Keller was finally moving on. He'd asked Kathy to marry him and now he could forever put behind him the disappointment of his failed first marriage to the only woman who ever held his heart, Madeline.

Madeline can only assume karma is out to destroy her life. Her second marriage has ended. Her doctor has told her she has breast cancer, and now the only man she's ever really loved is getting married.

Even though divorced, Carlos and Madeline remained close friends. But with one moving on, and one facing the possible end, will it be too much to remain friends? Or will fate step in and offer them a second chance?

Meet the Author

Bernadette Marie has been an avid writer since the early age of 13, when she’d fill notebook after notebook with stories that she’d share with her friends. Her journey into novel writing started the summer before eighth grade when her father gave her an old typewriter. At all times of the day and night you would find her on the back porch penning her first work, which she would continue to write for the next 22 years.

In 2007 – after marriage, filling her chronic entrepreneurial needs, and having five children – Bernadette began to write seriously with the goal of being published. That year she wrote 12 books. In 2009 she was contracted for her first trilogy and the published author was born. In 2011 she (being the entrepreneur that she is) opened her own publishing house, 5 Prince Publishing, and has released contemporary titles and will begin the process, eventually, of taking on other authors in other genres.

Bernadette spends most of her free time driving her kids to their many events. She is also an accomplished martial artist, working her way to her second degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. An avid reader, she enjoys most, the works of Nora Roberts and Karen White. She loves to meet readers who enjoy reading contemporary romances and she always promises Happily Ever After.

    Ok

This book did not do it for me, if only cancer could be so easy as well as divorce. Im sorry but with such a delicate subject as breast cancer this should of been a better book. I was truly disappointed, like the endding though. Probably wont be reading any more of her books. Less than 150pgs.

    Very short

Very short and boring. After reading The Executive's Decision this was a big disappointment. Not worth the money or the time. Carlos is weak and spineless.

    Not a mature read

The writting was immature and lacked character development. The conversations were choppy and did not have the flow of real speech. Without those issues the book was terrible. Weak characters and trivial issues. Cancer is a huge problem that hurts a lot of people. This book glossed over it like she had the flu. This was just a bad read.

    Good family story

Sweet story and well written. Loved the fact that the fiancee was atypical for this type of story. Usually they're portrayed as hateful b**ches but she was actually a sweet and likeable character. Made for a thoughtful and refreshing execution.
