A Secret Wish [2005]

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide
With guests including David Sylvian, Heaven 17's Glenn Gregory, and Steve Howe, A Secret Wish is synth rock with an eye toward orchestrated pop as well as a bit of sampler experimentation in the grand ZTT tradition of Art of Noise. One of the two or three BEST of the 80's

I don't know about falling flat as B&N's editor proclaims, this was a special event do those that enjoyed this European/German British collection. This German based band took it to England and pros like Stephen Lipson and Trevor Horn recorded a synth masterpiece. Claudia Brucken just stands right out in as the centerpiece for me, both ladies sound great, I think this peaked in the synth quest holy grail, it is supervior stuff and still sounds great. I heard that Trevor Horn has taken A Secret Wish and remixed many songs added/took away some things but most say it still unbelievable to hear. Played loud! Loved some of the Industrial touches they mixed things so well together. Claudia Brucken has gone on to form ACT working with Thomas Leer, recorded a brilliant solo album, working with Oceanhead, Paul Humphreys of OMD and Marin Gore of Depeche Mode still retaining the Propaganda/OMD sound with onetwo their new band.
