Very up front and comforting from a Doctor who has had to deal with his own medical issues. One of the few doctors out there who knows that Fibromyalgia is not "all in our heads.

Supportive, but not informative.

I cried while reading this book. It was like I found someone who understands the very real emotional and physical struggles those of us living with fibromyalgia and other types of chronic pain deal with everyday. I applied for disability because of my conditions and I have felt so ashamed and upset that I have been reduced to relying on the government to decide whether or not I should receive help. I don't know the words to use sometimes to describe the utter helplessness I feel in having to live with this illness, so when I go to court to see whether this time they will grant me my disability benefits I can only imagine what to say. I'm tired of the whole process and wish it was over with. I hate relying on complete strangers' opinions about whether 'I'm fit for work or not'. It's so frustrating. Anyway, this is a good book and gives helpful advice. At least there is one person who seems to understand how I feel and that really does matter to me.
