This introduction to Beauville is a riveting and erotic novella. After being fired, Annabelle Macon returns home to Beauville to reassess her life and decide where she’s going next. Sheriff Jackson Storm is happy being a player until his woman makes herself known. Will Anna and Jackson’s fire burn for only one night or can he convince her that the best burn is a slow burn?
This fast paced novella stimulates the senses with red hot passion and romance. The author makes the reader feel like they are in Beauville by bringing the town and culture to life with well written scenes and details that capture the imagination. The characters are strong, compelling, easily related to and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning.
The attraction between Jackson and Anna is red hot and the sex scenes are scorches the reader with vibrant and fiery intensity. The story appeals to the reader as Anna reveals her childhood crush is now the parish player and the reader can’t help but get caught up in the take charge Jackson deciding who his woman is.
The short story is enjoyable and entertaining with lots of passion to keep the readers interest and of course there is more to the story coming soon. I like where the author chose to end this part of the story, but it sure is a tease.

Annabelle was fired from her last job and forced to move back home with her mom. She isn’t expecting to stay home, not giving up on her dream. She doesn’t expect Jackson Storme to be even more gorgeous than before she left, or for him to show an exciting amount of interest in her. What Annabelle thinks will be one night of festivities and passion, but Jackson has other plans.
Jackson Storme is the sheriff of Beauville and the town man-ho. He’s been there and slept with that, sometimes twice. However, all that changes when Annabelle Macon comes back home. Now all he wants his her and he plans to get her on board.
Jackson and Annabelle’s story was cute and quick. I enjoyed the banter, the small town of Beauville we’re introduced to and the secondary characters.
I only had one problem when it came to this story and that was the seemingly insta-love on Jacksons part. He is seemingly the town man ho and yet one look at Annabelle and he goes from horny to in love in about two seconds. I understood Annabelle since she always had a crush on Jackson but Jackson didn’t see her as anything other than his sisters best friend and them BOOM let’s make babies and get married. It was seemingly out of nowhere.
Despite all that though I enjoyed A Slow Burn and am seriously drooling to get another installment of this series. I love Tigris Eden’s books and A Slow Burn is no exception. Her books always contain a diverse set of characters that I fall for every time I open one of her books.

The title was perfect for this short, in my opinion. Oh, Jackson! He is just so SEXY!! He is such an alpha male, but that's my favorite type!
I wanted more of them and their story, so I pre-ordered the next one! :) I love the contrast between the H/H.
I liked the secondary characters as well.
I don't normally read stories with small town settings, but I enjoyed it. It was a nice glimpse into Beauville.

While a quick read, A Slow Burn is packed with sizzling heat and Jackson. Oh, Jackson. I'd have a hard time saying no to him, too! Even if I was pretty sure my heart was about to be stomped on - he's THAT good. He's the perfect alpha male. If you're looking for a read to get your heart pumping, this is a great one to do exactly that.
I liked how the tables are turned in this story with Anna expecting a one night stand and Jackson looking for something long term with her. In romances, usually it's the other way around, and so this was a refreshing change. It made me realize how smart Anna is with knowing Jackson's history and her desire to protect herself.
My only issue with this story is Jackson's sudden decision that Anna's the only woman for him. He ignored her while they were growing up, is notorious for being a one night stand kind of guy, and doesn't really know her well. It didn't jive with his character; however, I'm positive there's a lot more to come for these two characters which may later help me understand his reasoning.
I really liked Anna from the start - she's intelligent, goes after what she wants, has ambition without being cutthroat, and generally seems to be a caring person. Anna and Jackson make a scorching hot pairing, and their chemistry was off the charts. They were so much fun to read about, and I want more of them and their story.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
