Overview

A gift of love, a promise that reaches beyond the grave.

'A Song For Joey' is an emotional, nostalgic saga of love and hate, played against the background of Britain as it emerges from World War Two.

Meet Paolo and Rita, reluctant parents, and Rita's mother, Gladys, who picks up the pieces.

Then get to know Belinda - a girl with a gift - and Joey, the boy she met when all seemed lost. When Belinda is made homeless, Joey teaches her to survive. But Joey has an illness, and after he dies, she makes a solemn promise at his graveside to one day give him what is then beyond her reach.

With Joey watching over her, Belinda overcomes heartache and dreadful abuse in her quest to become a successful pop singer and to keep her promise to Joey.

On the way, she learns that love has many forms; she meets Connor, a gay man who becomes her best friend, and Oliver, her lover. But her past catches up with her, and a man she thought she had escaped threatens to exact his revenge in a terrible and brutal way.

Warning: This book contains explicit descriptions of sex, some violence and mild swearing.

Meet the Author

Elizabeth Audrey Mills, the author of 'A Song For Joey' was born in the seaside resort of Southend-on-Sea, in Essex, England - famous for its stony beaches and seaweed, but now lives in the euphemistically-named 'Three Bridges', in the county of Sussex, with her writer hubby, Douglas Verity.
She remembers the sixties, and even a bit of the fifties. She has been many people and done many things, but retirement is proving to be the most exciting and productive part of her life. 'A song For Joey' was her first complete published novel, followed by a major historical romance 'Natalie Tereshchenko - Lady In Waiting' and its sequel 'Natalie Tereshchenko - The Other Side. In contrast, she has also produced a series of novelettes for pre-teens featuring Tapestry Capricorn, a Feline Secret Agent.

Elizabeth Audrey Mills has done it again. "A Song for Joey," is a wonderful story. If you have ever felt, heard or dreamed of a deceased loved one (which I have), you will appreciate Belinda Bellini as she navigates her challenging childhood with the help of some very special people.
