Arden Lesstymine (known to everyone as Trouble) likes attention as much as the next girl, but this is getting ridiculous. When an insane stranger is murdered at the inn where she works, Trouble becomes the next Soulbearer for the disembodied god of chaos, Loku. Yes, it comes with the ability to channel the god’s limitless power, but at the cost of her sanity — literally. Now she has a sexy but cynical knight claiming to be her protector, a prince trying to seduce her to his cause (and his bed), and a snarky chaos god who offers a play-by-play commentary on it all, whether she wants to hear it or not. To make matters worse, a necromancer wants to capture the soul of Loku for his own dark purposes, and the only way he can get it is by killing her first.

Editorial Reviews

Underworld Love Addiction - Becky at Underworld Love Addiction
“This was a very unique story with some great characters… I thoroughly enjoyed this story as well and can’t wait for the sequel. I say that so calmly now. I may possibly have had a slightly larger reaction to realizing I was at the end of the book and would now have to wait months to find out what happens next. I highly recommend this story” — 4.5 STARS
RT Book Reviews - Amy Lignor at RT Book Reviews
“Book one in the Soulbearer trilogy, this fantastical romance is completely different from the myriad of others out there. It’s a great book that pits Trouble against Chaos — two characters that all readers will want to visit again and again!” — 4 1/2 STARS, RT Book Reviews May 2012 issue

Strong female lead; fun bodice ripper

Fun read. Good lusty scenes, but strained on the love triangle by the end. I love the nickname Trouble. The chaos god is nicely snarky. Will finish the series. For me 3 stars is a solid effort that I enjoy reading.

    A truly delightful read

This book is wonderful adventurous and full of wonders. Excelent characters drive a well established plotline. Eager to read more of this trilogy. Truly one of the better fantasy/romance stories i have read in a long time. Arden is a great heroine even if she does live up to her nickname 'trouble'. Loku a truly amazing if not dirty minded soul of a chaos god. And Dev a long suffering protector. Add in a cocky prince, an insane necromancer bent on revenge and power, and secrets and you have a story that truly entertains. ^_^

    Loved it!

Can not remember the last time I read a book that captured my attention the way this one did... couldn't read it fast enough... the characters are all endearing and annoying in their own ways as any good characters should be... looking forward to what else this author brings to the table in the coming years!

    260 pages

This is book one of a series. It is a cliffhanger. Which I hate. While the book is paeanormal in genre, it could also be soft erotica. Sex is mentioned or perfomed on every page. The efiting is okay, no major mistakes. This book is very, very violent. There are lots of beheadings and death by means I have never dreamed of. There are various spells, witches, spells, elves, sorccers, magis, possessions, transfer of souls, zombies, dead and alive people being burned to ashes, wolves with fire power, healing powers, powers over nature, torture, all kinds of Gods and worship there of. This is my second lest favorite of genres. Although, I have read some good para normal books lately. I found this book overlong and rather boring. It was the same thing repeatedly. A good idea, which went to pot rapidly. The story takes place in an era some what like our victorian age, on a planet with three moons. It is filled with superstitions, revenge and hatred. I did not care for this book. It is for adults. The author has added a lot of comments, views, explanations both before and after the story, bring the total pages to 290.

Finally, adult fantasy that isn't all sex or a bloodbath

Don't get me wrong, there's magic and zombies, not to mention war. Women are not silly damsels in distress. But it's nice to read fantasy that dosen'r make me feel faintly parentalistic or wondering why the author devolpes good guys just to murder them. Not to mention hey why do fantasy characters have to jump into bed ( or any other surface) ten seconds after meeting each other.

Glad I didn't pay for it.

A nice idea for a story but poorly executed. Too much soft porn - 'oohh do I want to have sex with the prince or my protector?' - and ending up with neither. Good thing it was free and I will not be spending money on the sequel. I really don't care what happens next to these characters.
