Features: The book's color plates, black-and-white photographs, and line drawings supplement the study questions. A few of the photos are faint, which hinders the interpretation of cell types. The appendixes contain examples of calculations, reference ranges, a comprehensive exam, and a glossary. Four references are cited throughout that are highly recognized hematology textbooks.
Assessment: Overall, the quality and content of this study guide are excellent. Each study question is cross-referenced to help readers assess their understanding of the material.
