Angela K. Simanek spent her childhood years buried in books and writing short stories. Perhaps inspired by her love of fiction and fantastical tales, she often dreams of characters and stories while sleeping. A Tale of Knight & Legend is her first novel and the product of her sleeping thoughts...

I write to you from the dark passages hidden deep within the Castle Tornoch of Giermyn, part of the once utopian world of Daselain. I sincerely hope that this letter finds you before it is too late. I desperately seek your assistance in getting our story heard by as many as possible so that I may find the one I search for.
Our world has been divided, torn apart and ravaged by the golden knights of legend, our sole protection from the ancient darkness living beneath us. Our Queen has been murdered and now haunts the Castle Tornoch. Our King lives in exile, magically bound not to interfere until I come of age- I am Quinn, kitchen servant boy, tortured and abused by the dark usurper, King Fyren, who murdered my mother and stole my father's crown.
I have just discovered the truth of my lineage and I must work quickly to save Princess Rhiannon of Harel, who has just arrived to wed the dark Prince Corryn in just two day's time. Prophecy tells us that the shadow beneath has possessed the souls and blackened the hearts of our heroic knights, that I must unite with another to bring about the end of this tyranny. Many of our people have already been imprisoned, the crinkernooks have informed Fyren of my knowledge so I am currently on the run, and Rhiannon is being held against her will. Please help me in my plight and search.
The magic of Elswyth, the wise woman, stands firmly behind us.
With Great Hope...
Son of King Emrys of Giermyn

I found myself captivated by the story as soon as I read the first few pages. I kept reading because I needed to find out what was going to happen next.
