Time isn’t always on a vampire’s side....

Iolanthe Tennyson has had a very bad year—due in part to the very bad men in her life. So she’s accepted her cousin’s invitation to spend the summer in Austria to indulge her photography hobby. Rumors of a haunted forest there draw Iolanthe into the dark woods—and into the eighteenth century....

Kind of feel like it insulted my intelligence. What stupid dialogue. Really, Katie???? I didn't even finish the last 20 pages or so. I just didn't care!

Cute with a small amount of heat! This is the first book I have ever read by this author, so I wasn't sure what I was in for. I thought parts of it were hilarious and laughed out loud but other parts were so stupid it was hard to get past them. I did enjoy it enough to go back and start with the first book in the series (which I am starting tonight). The reason I gave the book a four out of five was because the female character was so stupid it was hard to get past her at times but I really loved the male counterpart. It starts out OK but then when the female character went back in time it got really stupid for a bit. I had a hard time with the way she acted all stupid when she first got to the 18th Century. ****SPOILER ALERT**** She wakes up and immediately it's like she's retarded. She says stuff that people just don't say to people they are just meeting, like talking about wishing she had brought her vibrators, and her mom's gas (as in flatulence) problem, and it's like the author is trying to put so many 21st Century sayings into such a short space of time that it just comes out sounding false somehow. And she just babbles on and on and on...And PLEASE could we quit with the stupid Batman references. I was really surprised that later on in the book near the end you find out that the female character is supposed to be almost 40! She sounded so flipping juvenile all through the book that I was thinking 19 or early twenties. OK, now that that's out of the way, I found the male character absolutely hilarious and charming! And...a little sexy for lack of a better word. He actually is the redeeming factor in this whole book. There are some pretty hilarious scenes in the book though, when the author isn't trying to fit in 21st/18th Century references. I did laugh out loud a few times and even thought one specific shower scene was brilliantly funny! If you are into this type of book I would highly recommend Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. Her books are similar but less cheesy and with quite a lot more "heat", but are laugh out loud a lot too. All in all I liked the book and will continue reading this series (unless it becomes too stupid to bear) ...

Trite and unfunny. More like a bad and boring sitcom. Are these books for teens?
