Overview

Libby Ross escaped betrayal and heartbreak in Chicago when came to Montana expecting a new start, children, and a good place to raise them. Instead she learned that she has been duped again by the cowboy who made her his mail-order bride. He died, leaving her with no money, nowhere to go, and no resources but her own ingenuity. Then she learned about the Lodestar Ranch and its owner, Tyler Hollins.

Besides a lifetime of painful memories, Tyler had his hands full with immediate problems. Half his cattle were lost during the worst winter on record and his cowhands were about to quit if he couldn’t find a decent cook. Libby Ross fit the bill. She had never seen a man so attractive with such a sour disposition. But she sensed desire behind the wall Ty erected to keep everyone at a distance . . . a wanting so fierce it nearly broke her heart.

They locked horns from the outset, but they could fight each other, or fight together to see their dreams come true . . .

Though the story is somewhat predictable. It is so well written you'll want to follow the rocky road to romance. There really is a dearth of good writers out there. Alexis Harrington is a find. PS The Irish Bride is a wee bit better then this. You'll like them both.

The story line was enjoyable. I did not think the book was too long. Would have enjoyed a longer glimps into the birth of their son at the end. Did have editing errors but overall they were not disruptive.

I'm usually not looking for romance novels but for some reason this caught my eye. I read this book in about 3 days, off and on reading. There are a lot of pages but I didn't want to stop reading it. I now look for books by this author. Very fun reading.

This was a wonderful story that i really enjoyed reading. The only thing i disliked was when he visited the prostitute after meeting her and the author writing what he did with the prostitute... ew... other then those visits, the book was really good.

This is a marvelous book. Tyler and Libby were both very well written characters, and their developing relationship is so sweet. I liked that there was no villian shadowing them, trying to break them apart, but rather they were just trying to find their way together. The characters also fit the time period and are realistic in that regard. I absolutely recommend this book.
