Editorial Reviews

VOYA - Voya Reviews
Although the subtitle promises "A Teenager's Guide to Life," this book is more of an autobiographical free-for-all than a real handbook. Popular teen celebrity Fishel plays "Topanga" in the television series Boy Meets World. Here Fishel gushes through all the major facets of her life in a flaky, big-sisterly way. She begins with family anecdotes--"Wasn't I a mean big sister?"--before winding her way through friendships, dating--"I just don't kiss anyone, that's for sure"--and spirituality. Think of the breathless intimacy of a sleepover with a really cool friend to capture the spirit of Fishel's wandering, often trivial monologue. Yet Fishel does strike some of the deeper chords of the adolescent experience. She relates her dismay as her body "shot through puberty on national television." Not tall, not thin, Fishel has had to come to terms with her unfashionably voluptuous body. In another section, she shares her realizations about peer pressure--"I don't hang around irresponsible people"--and breaching her parents' trust "God, that cut like a knife." The text is punctuated by some lovely photographs of Fishel, as well as pages entitled "Random Thoughts" that are truly banal. This book does not pretend to be great literature, but it is breezy and often fun, something to appease television addicts when the tube is turned off. Offer this trendy title to fans, not to those middle and junior high school girls seeking real advice. Photos. Danielle Fishel

I really liked this book. I think Danielle did a great job saying what she was trying to say. I thought she really made a point. It's also a really catchy book. Like once you start reading it it's hard to stop. You just have to see what she say's about the next topic.

    100 Percent Enjoyable!

I personally don't read a whole lot, but I read the whole thing in one night! It was just really enjoyable and let you see into her life. It made me feel like I knew her better; I realized how much like me she really is. If you like Danielle, you'll probably enjoy hearing all her stories about growing up and her life experiences. Congratulations on your book Danielle, and continued success in your personal and professional life!

    Danielle the person

Danielle is like any other teen the only thing that makes her different is that she is on T.V. I think she made a very good choice to write the book cause she lets us know Danielle the person not the star. Danielle also lets you know about what fame is from her point of view. I look up to her and as I tell her she is a little Angelsent from heaven. Danielle God Bless you! You have a long way to go and more books to write :)
