Live Beautifully. I’m not sure I can write a review that can justify this story. But I sure will try. I was going through a rough patch of books. I was reading really good stories but they weren’t touching me in a way that I wanted. The characters weren’t connecting as I would've liked. I read books, I review, It’s just what I do. I was lost.  But then, while reading another book, I wasn’t connecting with any characters. The story was ok but it wasn’t that great, to be honest. So I said to myself, Life is short. I’m going to read A Thousand Boy Kisses. See if it will touch me as it has everyone whose read it.  Let me just say, it was more than I had expected. It was the most beautiful story I’ve read in a really long time. It’s a timeless romance that would top Noah and Allie. Through all these years no one could top those two. I just know that if it was turned into a movie. It would be the #1 romance.  At just 34% I was crying, nose sniffling, ugly crying. I was glad that I was by myself. I could just feel this love and connection they had deep in my chest. The ache for Poppy and Rune. Just like the book, it’s the moments that we capture. The moments you can’t go back to but relive in your memory.  A Thousand Boy Kisses, is a story full of heart. A heartbreaking melody. I loved Poppy, she was so full of life. She loved life, she wanted to live and see the sunrise. She loved Rune more than anything in the world. And Rune loved her more than anything. I fell in love with these two. I felt so much reading this story. I laughed at times as well, it’s not a depressing story. So don’t think it is. It was so much more....Lissa

I guess I should have assumed by the title, but this book was definitely written for a younger crowd. (Probably 13-15 year olds) The story is just too...girly. And unrealistic. They are so in love from the second they meet. The language is obnoxious. People don't talk like that to each other. Especially 15-year-old kids. I only bought it because it was under $5. I only finished it because I bought it. It was listed under new adult romance, but it doesn't compare at all to say, Colleen Hoovers books. I think it should be young adult rather than new adult, if not in the children's section.

I have never cried so much from a book in my life. It was so amazingly beautiful that I couldn't put it down. I love how Poppy was so strong when she had every known reason to break down. This is easily one of my favorite books that I'll often re-read. Thank you so much for the opportunity and for writing this book so amazingly.

3.5 Stars Reviewed by Suzanne and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog Poppy and Rune have been best friends since they were 5 years old and the irrepressible little girl offered to take Rune on her adventures. From that day they are inseparable and their friendship turns in to more as they grow up and they can’t imagine life without each other. And then at 15 Rune and his family have to leave, go back to Norway and they are separated, but no not even distance could weaken their bond. Only, once Rune is away, Poppy cuts him off without explanation. Two years later Rune returns, angry and hurt, only to realise that more heartbreak is in his future. I’m on a quest this year to stretch my comfort zone and read things I would normally pass by. A Thousand Boy Kisses is exactly the kind of book I would normally dismiss and never think of again, so I decided to pick it up and give it a try – the beautiful cover helped of course. I still can’t decide if I made a mistake or it it was a brilliant decision. This book cut me up, I couldn’t put it down until I knew exactly what was going to happen, even though I knew, I needed to read it happening. Basically, I was a sobbing mess and I lay the blame fully on Tillie Cole. I am trying to write this review without giving away spoilers, so I would read this with caution if you don’t want a hint of what happens. I loved Poppy and Rune together, they were sickeningly adorable, both when they were kids and then when they were teenagers. I really wish it could have stayed that way, as despite my normal stoic and cynical reaction to over the top sentimentalism this book broke my heart a little. Seeing both of them cling to one another and draw strength from the other in the most awful of circumstances brings a lump to my throat, even now, a week after I have read the book. However, despite all these feelings this book evoked in me and I know what I am about to say is skeptical and possibly insulting people’s bravery. I found Poppy’s complete acceptance and optimism with her awful situation jarring. It didn’t seem real, even if she had expected the inevitable I wanted to feel some anger or regret or something from her. Something that made her more real to me, in the end I found I couldn’t connect and emphasise with her as I found her attitude too good to be true. It was Rune, his anger and his complete agony that I connected with more. It was his reactions, his trying to be a brave front on a cracked facade that had me howling in tears. If you want a book that is going to make you cry, then you need to pick this up, it is a touching story which plays gleefully on your heartstrings. If you want a book with a cut and dried HEA, steer clear, this isn’t for you. But, it manage to touch my otherwise cynical heart, even if it was, in places, a little too sweet for my tastes.

I have read most of Tillie's books, but after reading this story, I am a forever fan. Have loved her books, but this one was so amazingly beautiful I feel about ready for my heart to burst. This is one of those books that will stay with you long after it ends.

I read it one sitting, I ignored everything. The world didn't want to let me go and I let it hold me hostage. What a wonderfully sad story.

This is an absolutely amazing book, that literally broke my heart. The characters and emotions are so genuine and deep that you find yourself hurting and loving with them. This is a definite rare gem of modern literature. * keep kleenex close by.

Lost. For. Words. Spellbound! Ms Cole hasn't just squeezed my heart; she’s provoked sentiments so strong that the inevitable had to happen. And without me even realising it! Ugly cries, sniffles and everything which accompanies one when in such a state despair, only seemed to make me want to turn the pages faster than I could actually read. Storyteller par excellence, the author’s character development is nothing like I have experienced in a long long time. I couldn’t help but fall head of heels for these two beautiful youngsters going through their young life’s trials and tribulations, and I’m absolutely sure that any potential reader will feel exactly the same as I did. The intensity of their story sucked me in from the first written word, the option of putting it down until the last one was not an option. Never have I regretted the sleepless night I had. The journey which this story takes you on is nothing less than amazing. Boy meets girl. Girl likes boy and an unbreakable bond is born. Wow! Poppy and Rune’s relationship literally humbled me, their contrasting personalities… beyond perfect. Told in such a way, I felt like I was there by their sides conjuring up so many visions of their hideaway, their escape in surroundings of abounding beauty. Cherry blossom, trees and breath-taking scenery was the perfect scenario to watch them grow up, become young adults. What a pleasure, how heartbreaking. The secondary characters are more than loveable and more tears were shed when someone so very dear to Poppy’s heart finds peace. Believe you me, I can’t say how much I loved this person’s advice to her. But all the advice in the world won’t prepare either of them for the future. Promises, desires and pure love…will it be enough? There is no doubt whatsoever that this incredible story deserves five massive blossoming stars. I highly recommend this young adult tale which shows love, makes all of us sit back and weigh up everything in life that cannot be taken for granted. But saying that, I would like to mention that although this book is aimed at YA, it can be read by all ages. Tillie, what more can I say than this. You have outdone yourself, you have stirred all my emotions, you have broken me and whether or not you put me together will remain to be seen!

Warning: Grab a box of Tissues! This young adult stand alone book is so good! I love when I get sucked into a story that seems so real. I felt this way over Rune and Poppy's relationship. To find your soulmate at 5 years old, only to have their world flipped upside down when they are 15 yrs old. Will they be able to get back to the way they were before it's too late? Without giving away the whole book, let me strongly encourage everyone to grab a copy! I'm going to share this with my own teenage daughters, because this is a type of story that we can all read and share and talk about! I highly recommend this romantic story of love and kisses. If your a fan of Nicholas Sparks or Jodi Picoult, or Nora Roberts, then this story is perfect for you! The story was well developed with great characters that tug at your heart strings.
