A TOUCH OF MIDNIGHT
Midnight Breed series: Book 0.5

Savannah Dupree is a freshman studying at Boston University on a full scholarship. But academic excellence is only one of her gifts. She possesses something even more remarkable than her quick mind and insatiable curiosity for learning. With a simple touch, Savannah can see an object’s past—a skill that puts her life in danger, when her studies bring her into contact with a centuries-old English sword and the terrible secret hidden within the blade’s history.

In all his three hundred years of living as one of the Breed, vampire warrior Gideon never dreamed he’d see the blade again that spilled his young brothers’ lives ages ago in London. Ever since the boys’ deaths, Gideon’s been on a personal quest to rid the world of Rogue vampires, but now he can’t help wondering if the brutal slaying was something more sinister—an act perpetrated by an unknown enemy. An enemy who is apparently living in hiding somewhere in Boston. There’s one certain way to prove Gideon’s suspicion, but it will mean using innocent, gifted Savannah to help uncover the full truth—a truth that will shatter everything she knows about herself and the world around her. And with danger closing in from all sides, the passion that ignites between Gideon and Savannah will tempt them to risk their hearts and lives for a love that might just last an eternity….

This 40,000 word novella, a prequel to the Midnight Breed series, was previously published in its entirety in The Midnight Breed Series Companion. A Touch of Midnight is available in ebook and in trade paperback. Audiobook edition coming soon.

He was a warrior.  Fighting for his kind and without their knowledge, mankind also.  He was one of a few but together they were all they had.  Each with a special skill that compliments each other.  His heart was hardened by a past experience taking loved ones from him.  She wanted her freedom to be who she wanted to be.  But she add a gift that allowed her to see the past.  She unknowingly saw his past and his pain without even knowing him.  And then they met by his design.  What would you give up for your fated mate, the love of your life, and the other half of your soul?  Well did you really expect me to tell you.  Read A Touch of Midnight and find out what Lara Adrian has in store for Gideon and Savannah.

I know, I know, I am a little behind on reading Lara Adrian¿s Mi

I know, I know, I am a little behind on reading Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breed Series. In my defense, I really had no idea what I was missing. A couple of friends of mine recommended I read this book to get started on the series, and well, now I am hooked. There is a benefit to being behind on a series – I have several more that are already published that I can get my hands on. I can’t wait for more!

In A Touch of Midnight, we get to read Gideon and Savannah’s story, and it was a bit of an introduction for me to the entire series. This is my first Lara Adrian book and I learned that I really enjoy her writing. The emotions from both Gideon and Savannah were expressed very well, the romance between the two was passionate, but not overly detailed, and the story itself was well balanced.

I really enjoyed Gideon and Savannah. I admired their intelligence, strength and sensuality. While I always like a hero that can physically kick some butt, I like it when they can also use their brain to communicate. Gideon was this type of hero for me. Savannah is no slouch, either, as she is very wise beyond her years and to me that made her and Gideon a great fit. They balance each other even given their obvious differences (vampire vs human).

I have read other vampire stories in the past and I find it fascinating how each author puts their own spin on this particular type of story. Paranormal romance is not my first go-to genre, so I tend to be a little pickier than most when reading it. This one was really good, though. If you are looking for a quick paranormal romance read, I highly recommend you give A Touch of Midnight a try. I certainly look forward to the rest of the series.

This is a good quick way to discover the Midnight Breed. I have read Lara' s books from the beginning and love them. Poor Savannah. She knows she doesn't fit in with others but not why. She can read the past when she touches objects but can't tell anyone. Gideon, one of the Breed leaders, comes upon her. Even as a stranger she trusts him. They work together but there are moments when they disagree and the sparks fly. It is always fun to see a Macho Man get tamed!

As the many other of her reads had a good story with just the right amount of spiceing it up. I love the heroes of the breeds.
