I loved these books when I was small so when I saw it in the store I had to have it. My five year old son picked it up and started to read it and loved it. A few days went by and I heard what I thought was my oldest boy reading to my youngest boy but to my surprise it was my four year old reading it to my five year old.Now he wants to read all kinds of books like this. His Pre-school teacher says he will be able to skip the rest of the year and go into kindergarden when he turns five now because he knows the basic Phonics and reading skills they teach this year. All because I purchased this book,it was the best money I have ever spent.I have passed my love of reading to my boys. Thank you

My daughter is a beginning reader. She's been through the 'Bob' books, but they didn't hold her interest. I found this book recently and gave it to her, and she fell in love with it. She's reading it to her dolls and reading it to me and now that she's finished with it, she wants to start it over again. Whether it's the pictures, the repetition, or the simple story lines, this book has made reading fun for her.

As a homeschooling mom of a first grader, I am absolutely impressed with this book's approach to reading. My son could not read more than 3 words last week, and since we have started this book, he has read 5 complete stories by himself. You will NOT find a better resouce for your new reader than this book for less than ten dollars.

I brought this book home to my 5yrear old kindergartener and after reading the first chapter to her she fell in love with the book. It has been 4 days since then and my daughter has read 64 pages yes, by herself! We are amazed! I tell her the new words and she buzzes right along! These readers need to be back in the public school systems! I wish my 13 year old could have read these also! Thanks for bringing it back! We look forward to them all coming back!

I have an 8 yr old who could live a happy life if he never picked up a book. He's struggled with reading and I was looking for something to build his confidence. My parents sent him this treasury of Dick and Jane stories that I remember reading in grade school. For whatever reason, my son absolutely LOVED this book! He read independently for the first time, he read outloud to me, he read to his sister, he read to the dogs - he even said, 'I love reading!'. WOW! His confidence is up and I'm eager to get more Dick and Jane books for him to enjoy. If you have a reluctant reader, the repetition in this book and the lovely illustrations may be just what you need.

My mother-in-law had been an elementary school teacher for 40 years, and when my son wanted to learn to read at the age of three, she found some old copies of Dick and Jane to start him off. He graduated from high school a year early having skipped a grade due to his excellent reading and math skills. I was thrilled to find that the Dick and Jane books are now available to the general public. I am buying the Storybook Treasury of Dick and Jane for my three year old neice. I only wish that they would also publish the Think and Do Workbooks that I remember using in elementary school to go along with the reading books.
