Overview

As soon as A.F.I. achieved mainstream status and TRL airplay with its 2003 hit, "Girl's Not Grey," it was only a matter of time for tribute albums to start surfacing. A Tribute to AFI sifts through the band's punk catalog and lesser-known rock acts unite to honor the California band. Weeb delivers three solid covers while Gothocalypse, Diamonds & Lust, and Grave Matters offer their own sultry styles to some of A.F.I.'s underground hits.

I really like AFI, in fact, they are my favorite band. I was really dissappointed with this CD in more than one way. I didnt like the choice of the songs, and i didnt like the covers. I was especially dissappointed with the song entitled "I Wanna Get A Mowhawk (But Mom Won't Let Me Get One)." This was one of the first A.F.I. songs i heard, and i really liked it. It is supposed to be a fast hardcore song, not a slow quiet song. I am really dissappointed with the rest of the songs as well. The songlist was missing some songs, and also had the wrong songs on there. The song "High-school Football Hero" should not have been put on there, and instead, maybe the song "He Who Laughs Last." Overall, this was a really bad album, a disgrace, and an embarrassment, and it makes my favorite band, A.F.I. look bad. I am really upset i bought it.

Wow!I hate to sound cold but this was pretty horrible. Most of the bands changed the songs in a really bad way. Most of the people sounded like they were throwing up instead of singing. There was one song that really made me ill.The band that covered "the days of the phoenix" sounded like a group of cheerleaders. They ruined one of my favorite songs.AFI is my favorite band, they deserve a better tribute album.Don'y by this one!!!!!!!

don't, seriously, i only listened to the clips, and it was horrible, this makes AFI (one of my favorite bands) look bad, so dont buy it and go use the money to buy a actual AFI CD, if you have them all (as i do) then buy some offspring, or something better please!

This Tribute to AFI is anything but. The entire albums sounds like some sort of teen pop remake that should be heard on the Disney radio. Who in their right mind when subject to buying this album. If you have this album, I pity you and believe you are nothing but a poser. To redeem yourself, you will take the album, get a match, and burn it. If you want to hear AFI, then buy the actual albums.
