Trilogy Poetic Literature and Prose, LLC
An Exceptional Poetry Book for Exceptional People!!!

This is an exceptional book of poetry, written by exceptional authors, for an exceptional audience. The readers will gain moments of relaxation, and have great times of laughter and repose after a long arduous day. The Spence family believes that poetry is fulfilling to the soul, and that it raises a person’s level of consciousness to a different stage of awareness while stimulating the mind in a positive way. This belief is evident by the poems in this book. Joseph, who is an attorney and a retired military officer, expresses his thoughts in an outstanding manner while appealing to various cultures with his enlightening words. Sheila, who also is an attorney, and a former school teacher, shows her unique style of introspection into the soul with her blend of wisdom, illumination, and understanding. Their youngest son Jonathan, who is a violinist, an actor, and a martial artist, certainly appeals to readers of various ages with his creative style in a unique way, and is an inspiration to many younger adults.

The passing of Joseph’s mother was one of the motivational aspects which inspired the writing of this book. Such dedication shows how a family bonded to recover from the loss of a loved one who was very dear and special. The writing of this book shows what one family did together in a harmonious fashion to achieve a higher quality of life, and to motivate each other in its own way. It shows how the nucleus of a family is able to blend its creative thoughts, ideas, ingenuity, and aspirations as it moves along the path together, thus allowing others to become inspired and infused with higher thoughts of a better quality of life. The theme of this book, which is living life positively, also depicts how family experiences are shares on a daily basis, thus causing better understanding, fulfillment, and attainment of realization for enhancement of life’s goals. The sharing of their experiences in world travel, and communication with different cultures helped to bring them together.

Having known the Spence family, I can truly say that the inspiring messages by this poetic team of mother, father and son touch the spirits of many with their elevating, stimulating, and inspiring words of poetry and prose for the mind, body and soul. Their poetic recitals in various venues and forums have earned praise and accolades from many. Reading this book is a must. It’s a gem to keep and cherish. In a time when families are being torn apart due to societal pressure, this is one family that has blended its creative thinking and writing for the world to see and follow. This book has illuminated the path for many in a special way. Get it today!

Each of us can identify with this agonizing process. Individuals normally tell me the worst kind to have is in the summer time. The expectation of most is normally in the winter, but at times it creeps up on each of us in the summer. Sometimes it just won’t go away and a longstanding battle follows which zaps our strength. This is one of my battles, however, I know that each of you may have encountered a similar one in the past and probably will in the future.

It Was A Good Fight

It came upon me like a thief in the night

I knew at that moment we would be in for a fight

Oh, it tried to rob me of my strength

We fought a good fight hooking and jabbing

It lasted all night and the next day but I had an end in sight

At one point it thought I was down and out

But it just didn’t know what it was up against

I came back swinging and kicking again

I almost had it knocked out cold

But it was tough, rough, and bold

One night it eagerly woke me up before dawn

It had awful chills running down my spine

I fought back vigorously with all the Quils

Then it slipped away and crept into my throat

In a desperate bid it tried a strangle hold

"Don’t even try it," I said, "you won’t touch my voice"

I socked it to it with hot salt water all day long

Then it ran for my nose as a last resort

I called in reinforcements; sat in the steam room

With vapor rub on my chest, oh! It felt so good

I was now breathing easy; I had it cornered

Where can it run now, where can it hide?

It was down for the count and I was counting

I savored the moment with a smile

Then it came back and I went running

I had to call in the big boys this time

Oh, hot toddie, you taste so good to me

This baby is going down this time

Warm my soul with your soothing touch

While I get ready to deliver the next punch

There is a dance known as the "Bus Stop." Anyone at a party is able to tell when the dance is about to begin. Depending on what part of the country one may be residing in the name may change. In some parts it is the Bus Stop and in other parts it is the "Electric Glide." Interestingly enough, in various places it is referred to as the "Electric Slide." Whatever name it is called by, it is easy to tell when it’s time to hit the dance floor and dip to the glide.

The Electric Slide

Slide to the stop girl

Glide on back and whirl

Slide to the stop girl

Tonight we glide and twirl

Slide back and then glide forward

Glide left and the slide right

Slide to the stop girl

Glide on back and whirl

Dip to the blip girl

Dip down and then twirl

Kick out the grove girl

Slide back and whirl

Electric or Bus you go girl

You got it going on now

Slide back and make that whirl

Get on down with that twirl

Kick, turn, dip, and whirl

Move your feet to the grove

Bus Stop everyone gets on board

Electric Slide and glide to the beat

And just feel that body heat

    Enlightening, Uplifting!!!

A Trilogy of Poetry, Prose and Thoughts¿ is a lovely poetry book by three very talented poets, a family of poets. Each Poet has their own section and writes from their heart and soul. I felt wisdom, spiritual value, messages of hope and love within this collection. I was spellbound to read how they all could relate so wonderfully to each other. They all use the accent of imagery, taste, and touch within this collection.

I found the book very relaxing to my senses as my mind would wander to fully realize the potential of the words written on each page, and the story it would tell. I felt the love of Joseph, the Father, Sheila, the Wife and Mother and Jonathan their very talented Son. All of these very talented Authors wrote with great clarity and precision in the content they presented within this collection.

The entire collection was fabulous but I especially enjoyed ¿Walk on By Girl¿, ¿The Electric Slide, ¿Proud was He¿, ¿Autumn Leaves¿, ¿My Dad¿, Soccer Not Fowl¿, ¿The Indian Person, ¿Your Smile my Son¿, ¿Migration¿, and `Don¿t Leave me Behind¿. Each Poet writes well and compliments the other two. I could feel all the love shared within this family. Their expression was a delight to me and brought my senses to full relaxation.

I would highly recommend this book for anyone¿s poetry collection. It is the second book that I have read that they wrote and both books are a treasure that I behold. Kudos to all of you for the fantastic writing! Christina R Jussaume¿Author/Poetess--------- Awesome enlightening food for the soul!

All educators should make this masterpiece mandated reading for their students.

This family oriented book of poetry and prose is enthralling. As an educator I know well the value of literacy in students. In order to teach students the joy of the written word, you must first grab their attention. This piece does it for them and for me.

    Fantastic Family Poetry-Enjoyable Reading

Finally, a book of poetry and prose written by a family that has something in it for children. The son is an author and so young. I like the subjects. He thinks like a teen and writes like a pro. And you can see the wealth of experiences this family has had in travels, education, and observance of life. This is great. As a woman I like the poems because they are uplifting. The poems and prose by the husband are full of love and laughter. We need more books like this that appeal to the family and those who share family values. Looking forward to more from these three authors. Well done!!! Bravo
