    Fun idea

Each story begins with the same opening paragraph, though they progress in surprisingly different ways. While I enjoyed the newness of the idea, I really felt most of these needed more detail. Still, I don't feel I've wasted my time on these free, VERY brief tales. As someone mentioned before me, however, only five of the six stories are in this collection - hopefully they'll update it.

My favorites are "Dead Man's Woman" by Maggie Shayne for being the most believable and well-rounded, and "Night of the Living Wed" for it's humor and inventiveness as the only paranormal tale in this collection.

    Nothing special

I suppose the idea was novel but the execution was a bit lame. All of these stories felt rushed and a few even desperate. I didn't feel that any of them were what I'd consider "good".

    Average at Best

There were some editing errors but the biggest problem is how short the stories are. They feel rushed, at least once to the point of not being believable even if you're a hard core romantic. And including a story about zombies was off-putting regardless of whether it's a comedy.

Not the worst I have read.

Very very short stories. The zombie one was really quite stupid. I mean really, running for their lives from zombies but yet have time to get married and then run into a closet and have sex?! It was a unique idea, the authors all starting from the same point, but really needed more depth. The only one I really liked was the cop one, had a great story line and would have been great as a full book. It is free and will kill maybe 45 minutes.

    A GOOD READ

Take 6 authors and give them the opening paragraph to a book and ask them to complete. The first was the best and some other were outlandish. I don't know if I would recommend this book but check it out just the same.

    Short & sweet

Maggie Shayne's short was my favorite. The others were just so-so. Cute for a free book but nothing i would have actually paid for. I liked the idea of each story starting the same but it started getting repetitive by the last 2 stories.

    Good,but not great

I thought the idea behind this book was interesting, however, reading the same opening got so monotonous that by the third story I was skipping it. That being said, I did like how each author took a different direction with the same opening. As with any anthology, you will have some hits and misses. Some of the stories were really good and others not so much. Also, it was free. Overall, I thought it is a good was to pass the time and get a taste of different authors.

Simple, amusing, and worth the cost.

As it is free, I find no harm in recommending this set of very short novellas. Easy to read and interesting to see how each author twists the set-up given. Not all are wildly successful, but still worth the time if you're looking for a bit of fun.

    Just doesn't work

This is a unique idea that just doesn't work. The stories are just too short and that makes the characters actions unbelievable. Their reasoning and actions and motivations just don't add up. I guess its worth reading just because its free.

    Interesting Twist to same introduction

This is a group of stories that start exactly the same then the authors twist. I enjoyed each one as you weren't sure where it was going to go. There were a few that i didn't like as well as others but you will get that in any book you read. It is definitely worth the time to read.

    Intriguing

This is a unique anthology. One introduction, six very differnt stories. It offers a style for everyone to enjoy. The introduction allowed for all the stories to be well developed without leaving the readers guessing.

    Great unique idea!

I wasn't sure what to think about 6 books by different authors beginning with the same first page, but this was a nice surprise. It was amazing how different each book was! Very entertaining and with the different styles of writing there is something for everyone. Thank you Harlequin!

    Good idea, bad follow through.

While the first four stories were entertaining they had know depth, way to short and underdeveloped but oh so much potential. Would have loved to have read them as full lenght books. The last two stories were unreadable for me, totally out there, not my cup of tea.
