I'm not going to be original when I say that this book is way too short! you want to read more about alfa vampire romance with a human but it leaves you at a cliffhanger and doesn't explain when is the next danger is coming and/or who's plotting it and why. hope to read a continuation soon. Was this review helpful? Fangs, steamy sex, blood, life mate, a heroine with inner strength and a hero with yummy body and a voice that could make a granny drop her panties! This story has it all! Rich environmentalist Francesca, Frankie, Stewart is working to elect the greenest governor to office. She is a loner who carries a scarred face and a wounded heart. Jake Rios is the new security chief for the man running for governor and he is the strong and silent type, who shows no emotion at all. Oh, but he does have is a voice that slides down Frankie's body and makes her wet and hungry. Jake is a vampire and he found his life mate, Frankie, but he has been going slowly. Well, NO MORE! Frankie lets her hair down, drops her inhibitions and undies and Jake rocks her world with "PULL THE FIRE ALARM" sex galore. There is a unseen evil nemesis who wants something from Frankie, but what does he want? Will Frankie agree to be Jake's life mate? Can Jake protect his Frankie from the nemesis? I loved this novella by Virna DePaul! She has fire extinguisher worth scenes and great characters that will fight tooth and nail for their love. I only thing that I didn't love, it was too SHORT! I must give Ms. DePaul a score of 4 fingers up and 10 toes!
NetGalley ARC given for my honest review.

Jake knows he Frankie is his mate and he wants her in his life, pronto. Frankie is cautious and Jake doesn't want to scare her away. She's been hurt in the past and he'll do anything to protect and love her.
A Vampire's Salvation definitely isn't long enough, but it gets right to the point of the story, with a whole lot of sexy-hot along the way. The characters are alive with chemistry and sexual tension and the sex itself is steaming hot. When danger becomes apparent, Jake is uber-sexy as Frankie's devoted hero and Ms. DePaul makes us feel the heat and the love. You may need a fan by the time you're done with this one! This was my first Virna DePaul romance and it won't be my last. I would recommend it to all my friends and customers in a heartbeat!

This is a Novella . In this book we have Jake Rios who is an old vampire and he is the head of security for the
Governor of California. He has high hopes in bringing out Vampires as good law abiding citizens.
No one knows what Jake is. Then we have Frankie a Human who works for the Governor and has the hots
for Jake. Although Frankie has a horrible past with men. Ryan Turner is the man who gave her a scar across
her beautiful face and watched while she was raped. He has now come back into Frankies life. However Ryan
Turner also has a vendetta against Jake Rios so he sees this as a win win situation to have them both
within his reach. Can Jake save her? Can Jake finally have his lifemate? Will Frankie give him what he needs?
The attraction between Frankie and Jake takes off immediately. The action of the plot was very good. I can not
wait for the next book in this series. I feel this book deserves 5 Stars.. It was well written.

Sexy Novella -- 3.5/5 stars
This book contains many of the things that haters of the romance genre dislike: insta-love, an exaggerated dilemma that brings the lovers closer together and a vampire finding his mate. But if you are a romance lover like me, you will devour this book and enjoy every minute of it! A Vampire's Salvation is a short read of 77 pages so it was a job well done by the author to have me feeling a connection with Frankie and Jake in the short time it took to read.
One big negative is that you cannot overthink stuff in this book. For example, the way Frankie behaves when she learns things about Jake's vampirism. It's not so believable but it would take a much longer story to weave a more realistic tale.

Great start. I'm hooked.
Francesca Stewart has never wanted a man as badly as she does Jake Rios. The fact they both work for the California Governor doesn’t deter her from thinking of ways to jump his yummy bones. Unfortunately, his apparent disinterest in said jumping and his complete focus as Head of Security leaves her with just her fantasies. Until the day he drops the disinterest and lets it be known in no uncertain terms how very much he does want her, bone jumping and anything else she can think of.
Jake Rios is a vampire who needs a mate and soon or bad things will start happening to him. Luckily, in his bid to reach the Governor, he finds her. Francesca is his. Now, all he has to do is convince her of that fact. And well, that he’s a vampire. It shouldn’t be hard, right?
Well-written and quick-flowing this short gets right down to business. I love the characters and look forward to reading more about them. I have a feeling that the villain is going to be one of those guys who you want to hate so much, but he’s not completely evil. I love those guys. It’s easy to hate a complete blackguard and cheer for his downfall. Harder to hate one who has bits of grey and maybe even some white to his character. I’m not saying the big baddie in this book is like that, it’s just my impression. I can’t wait to read more.
The different take on vampires is interesting, the steamy scenes are definitely steamy and I’m curious as to how the baddie is connected to Francesa and why. Although the ending seemed a bit rushed to me, for a short story it has me hooked and, so far, I’m intrigued and waiting for the next installment. Bring it on!

Lately I've read some short Novella's that have fed my love for hot and steamy encounters and things that go bump in the night.
This stories are a refreshing new introduction to new author's that I've not read yet or to sound names of the industry that are in my TBR
Today I'm bringing you a story that I liked very much and a new series that could be a lot of fun for us to read.
The author had the ability to write a story that entails politics, a hidden race, some freaking hot vampires, a wounded soul learning to
love again and one hot alpha vampire to take care of her.
Even though this is short, there are no flaws and no confusions in this action paced narrative.
The only thing that I would like to have continued to see played out was Frankie's and Jake's relationship after the end of the book.
Now facts on our heroine, Frankie ...
She has a trust issue with men, her last boyfriend let her down on the worst way possible so after being attracted by Jake and weaving
an impossible relationship in her mind, she decides to put an end to it.
When Jake, after all the months that has almost ignored her, turns his attention to her she is surprised but she does jump to the
opportunity of having her desires met.
In my point of view, Frankie was a little stuck up in the moment kind of thing, but overall understandable because of her past experience.
She never ran from Jake, even if he was a vampire, and learned to face a whole new life and some added responsibility in the end.
Vampire Jake is our alpha hero.
How I love vampires and their alpha attitudes with those deep souls and the speech "you are mine" given in the young hours of dawn
to their mates. Jake was no different.
He knows that he can't resist any longer to Frankie and even though he tries to go slow, he simply can't. How sweet ....
If there could be guys out there like Jake, save me one!
If you love Paranormal Romance with suspense and action, this is the perfect series for you, give it a try.

A short sexy tale of vampire love. Jake Rios is a vampire who works security for the Governor. Frankie Stewart is the governor’s “go-green” political consultant and Jake’s “one true mate”. He just has to let her know that and that isn’t going to be easy. Frankie doesn’t date. She was burned by her first love and doesn’t trust easily. After six months of mutual attraction Jake finally makes his move and things get hot quickly.
I really liked Jake & Frankie. The chemistry between the two is off the charts. I wish it would have ended differently but know that it was a teaser for the next book. If you like your PNR spicy this quick read is for you.

Frankie is drawn to Jake Rios. She has been fantasying about him ever since she first saw him. She has given her heart only once and it had devastating result, so she isn’t looking for any kind of relationship...just something physical.
Jake Rios is a vampire that has search the world for his perfect mate. He has discovered her and now intends to claim her. Slowly planning his seduction, Jake knows it will all be worth it. Now he just has to convince Francesca (Frankie) Stewart.
A Vampire’s Salvation is a quick read with smoking hot sexual encounters. Like many novella’s, the story is a bit rushed. I wanted more back ground or an explanation for the mysterious attacks. In the end, A Vampire’s Salvation is a great teaser to a new series. Leaving me with questions and wanting to know more.
This 2nd Edition ARC copy of A Vampire's Salvation was given to me by Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept in exchange for a honest review. The publication date is April 22, 2013.

Loved it! A short story with a satisfying ending. Hot and steamy with just enough danger and intrigue to keep it from being erotica. Great characters, great romance, great developing, great author.

A Vampire's Salvation by Virna DePaul was a quick read filled with a sweet, hot romance and lots of intrigue that kept the plot moving and me interested. Once again, DePaul shows her prowess as a writer by creating in the moment relationships with real to life characters that draw the reader in. In short, this is a wonderful novella perfectly concocted for paranormal romance lovers to sink their teeth into. One thing that I simply love about this writer is her ability to bring characters and their relationships to life. Despite the threat of danger lurking about, we are swept away in the affairs and fantasies of the characters. The characters themselves always exude a wonderful sense of humanity with flawed personalities that help the reader to relate to them. Likewise, their strong and admirable natures are enduring and make them people that we instantly want to love. Frankie herself is an emotionally scarred woman with a history that makes her leery of becoming involved with men, especially one that makes her want to loose control. And yet, despite her painful past, she's developed a successful life fighting for causes that she sees as worthy. Her dedication to her causes is admirable. So when she sets her eyes on the head of security, Jake, she is no less committed. However, how far she's willing to let herself be swept away by him is always in question. Jake on the other hand has no questions or reservations when it comes to Frankie. He wants her and is determined for her to become his mate. His pursuit of her, however, shows the restraint and tenderness he's capable of as he realizes the extent of damage on her psyche that her past experiences have inflicted. Determined to make her trust him, I couldn't help but fall for him myself becasue he goes to such lengths to try and protect her, not only physically but emotionally. There's just something so appealing about that kind of love and when romance finally comes to pass between them it is utterly organic and engaging making for some extremely hot sexual tension and erotically charged loved scenes. There's a slight sense of delicious hesitation and uneasy feelings experienced by Frankie as she struggles to find out Jake's motives, but this unsure quality is only offset by her reaction to the truth about what this mysteriously alluring man really is. DePaul creates a wonderful storyline full of danger and unseen threats as Jake tries to help ease the way for vampires to step out into the public light. Of course, not all vampires are happy with this movement and decide to use Frankie as a means to put an end to it. Never sure where exactly the danger is coming from, you are drawn into the mysterious drama and suspense that unfolds. However, while I loved the premise immensely I was a little disappointed by the sudden ending. This novella is more about threat then anything else and I was hoping for a great action packed climax, instead I was given a promise of more to come. I would have liked to see a bit more action to go with the mounting threats that were made to Frankie and more insight into the possibility of a traitor on Jake's team, but I suppose I'll just have to wait and find out in the next installment! Was this review helpful? Francesca "Frankie " Stewart has wanted Jake Rios since the first moment she saw him. She has no idea how badly he wants her, as well - in fact, Frankie is the "mate" Jake has been waiting 200 years for. Now, if he can only convince her that the best thing she could do is become the mate of a vampire... This is a very sexy story. Virna DePaul has a real gift for creating "living" characters, and she's also extremely talented when it comes to writing hot love scenes and creating sexual tension. She has a way of making a short story have the "feel" of a complete novel. Ms. DePaul is a hot new voice in Paranormal Romance, and I'm excited to see what this author does next! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
