Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly - Publishers Weekly
A quartet of titles by Airlie Anderson star cartoonish animals that demonstrate the titular concept. In A Very Furry Flap Book, readers can find the four furry residents as they read the paper (Kitten), relax (Dog) and shower (Monkey); Leopard must locate his lost items among his home's polka-dotted appointments in A Very Spotty Flap Book. The other two titles in the series: A Very Patchy Flap Book and A Very Stripy Flap Book. Copyright 2004 Reed Business Information.
Children's Literature
This 6 1/2" by 6 1/2" thick board book has five spreads which include the inside of both the front and back covers. Each of the first four spreads has one or, in the case of the fourth page, two flaps to be lifted in order to discover which of the four furry animals that inhabit the same house is hiding under the flap of that particular spread. The last page brings back the animals in reverse order in response to the question, "Can you remember who lives in this furry house?" In spite of the furry title of the book, there are no tactile patches. Furry refers to the animals not the book. It is a simple book for the very earliest of readers. 2003, Tiger Tales, Ages 6 mo. to 18 mo.
