A Very Special Critterby Mercer Mayer
In this wise and funny picture-book adventure, a special student joins Little Critter's class at school. The new student uses a wheelchair, and Little Critter is worried. Will his classmate be very different? Will the class know how to act around him? It's an honest, realistic look at ways kids deal successfully with the unknown -- mixed with a big dollop of Mercer Mayer humor for good measure.

I think the book is a good book, because well anyone could read it. Even an adult if they wanted to think back on their childhood and read one of the books thiswould be the one to read.
This book is really great for little kids and to help them understand that it dosan't matter if your different you can still all be friends.
In this book, Little Critter discovers that the new kid in school, who happens to be in a wheelchair, is really cool! This is a well-told and illustrated story that teaches children about friendship with those who may seem different from them, but end up having many similarities.
