Publishers Weekly - Publishers Weekly
A quartet of titles by Airlie Anderson star cartoonish animals that demonstrate the titular concept. In A Very Furry Flap Book, readers can find the four furry residents as they read the paper (Kitten), relax (Dog) and shower (Monkey); Leopard must locate his lost items among his home's polka-dotted appointments in A Very Spotty Flap Book. The other two titles in the series: A Very Patchy Flap Book and A Very Stripy Flap Book. Copyright 2004 Reed Business Information.
Children's Literature
Leopard lives in a house where everything is decorated with spots. It does cause some problems when he tries to find things. Kids can help out by lifting the flaps. Leopard's lost glasses, phone book, and trumpet will all be quickly revealed. Once found, he puts them all away in his spotted wardrobe. This is a concept book that adds a bit of fun to the lesson. It is part of a series that includes strips, spots and fur (the latter seems a bit out of context). 2004, Tiger Tales, Ages 2 to 4.
